October 2011...Who's all going? Vacation dates and lodging

nbliss, Goldensonny, MattsPrincess, and Zarabear are my fellow travelers to Disneyland. May we all have the greatest of times and find Disney magic in everything we do. (Can't wait to get there!)

Thank you PoohBearFriends! :goodvibes So nice of you to notice. I have been so busy the send off was a little late today. I just got busy with my own packing and getting all the last minute stuff done.

Hope I run into some of you at the Park!

wbl2745, jenergy and jnjusoioa leave for their fabulous Disney vacations tomorrow. May you arrive safely and have all your Disney dreams come true.

Thanks so much for the well wishes! We had a great trip, but I was suprised that it was a little milder than normal and it took a little longer for the marine layer to burn away in the mornings. Definitely dress in layers!

From the DVC Villa room #3508 :goodvibes:

Fellow DISers, trinity991, Czardas, PoohBearFriends, simplicio and ricardol, are on their way to Disneyland tomorrow. One more sleep is all that is required for a fantastic time at DLR.

Lisa, it is a milder fall than usually experienced here in So Cal. There was a short rain burst in DL yesterday. It reminded me of Florida, but colder. :)

Yeah!!! Are you having a great time in the park?

From another fabulous day at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel:

Two Dis'ers leave tomorrow for Disneyland. Sending pixie dust to isisisme and LadyFaire88 for safe travels and may you both have many magical Disney adventures.

PoohBearFriends, thank you the send off before my trip. It is really nice to be appreciated! :goodvibes

We are having a good time, but for a few little issues. We are checked into a one bedroom DVC unit. We go to the Parks quite often and don't spend lots of time in the Parks. Instead, we tend to enjoy the hotel, shopping, pin trade, go to a movie and spend lots of time in our room (which faces DCA Park side).

When we arrived in our room there was jack hammering in one of the units above and to the side of us. My DH does not have a AP, so he was going to read and relax in the room when my DD and I were pin trading around the resort. The hammering turned out to be too much. I called in to see what could be done about the situation. Ken, the DVC specialist, told us the Villas were booked and a room change was not an option. He offered to move us to a one bedroom suite on the hotel side, but I brought food for us to prepare and cook in our room. In addition, we did not want to move into a smaller room (we have two teenagers). He countered with a two day hopper pass (so DH can escape the noise) and a dinner for four at any of the DLR hotel restaurants. Meaning, we could eat at Steakhouse 55. We took that. The total value is around $250. Nice compensation for the inconvenience of the noise. We plan on using the 2 day hopper towards a Deluxe AP (which we going to get anyway). We are looking forward to our dinner at SH55 tonight.

One big huge tip for Mickey's Halloween Party: do the rides first. Each ride, including Galaxy Ghost and Star Tours, was no longer than 15 minutes. Most were just the time to walk to the front of the loading area. We went trick or treating during the last half and loaded up on candy. My girls got a clear plastic bag from one of the gift shops for free and used that for a trick or treat bag. My DD(16) wanted mostly the apple crisps and her bag was completely full with them at the end of the night. She got 52 bags of them. Most of the CMs like to get rid of their candy towards the event.

CoriCW, Cloudconnected1039 and OregonMickeyLover depart to the Happiest Place on Earth. Wishing you the best Disney vacation ever with lots of smiles and magical discoveries..

It is a bit cold this morning and I am outside on the balcony posting this. Brrrr. we leave today, but less than two months for my next vacation! After December, not a Disney vacation booked for next year. :scared1:

Fellow DISers, DisneyFairytale, Quacktatty, musical2 and StyledSugar , are our last Disneyland travelers from our October Check In thread. Wishing all of you the best Disney vacation and may lots of magical memories follow you home.

And thus ends my send offs for this thread. I have really enjoyed keeping up this thread and getting to know the DISers on it. I hope I can do another Check In thread for DISboards next year. I had tons of fun doing the July and Oct Check in threads this year. Hope to run into more than just a few of you in Disneyland! :goodvibes

Thanks for all your hard work. I have to say that I have kind of lived through this thread since coming back from our vacation. I suppose I better get on with my trip report now to relive everything.

Happy Halloween!

Such kind words that fill my heart with warm fuzzies. :goodvibes

Happy Halloween to everyone!

Don't eat too much of the candy you get from Mickey's Halloween Party or the from the pile you're suppose to give away at your door. :)
