October 11, 2014 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on Disney Magic (San Juan)

We booked 2 months ago, and just booked el convento for the night before. Can't wait. 2nd Disney Cruise. Hoping el convento is as good as online reviews.

I don't know if this was mentioned before, but I researched the port calendars for our cruise and we have very little competition in each of our stops. In San Juan, we'll be in port with the Jewel of the Seas, both when we leave and return. We run into her again in Barbados. In St. Kitts, we run into the Carnival Valor and that's it.

El Convento is the place to be before this cruise ... seems like a lot of us are booked there. See you in the bar! :lmao:

Right now, I actually have two reservations, because I can't make up my darn mind. We've booked the El Convento and the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. I'm trying to list the advantages and disadvantages of both, before I make my final decision. So far, it seems more of us are at the El Convento, but the Marriott is on the beach. Is anybody familiar with the two properties and can help me identify the differences?

I too questioned beach or el convento. Think i want to meander around old san juan. But el convento does have sister.resorts on beach you can go to. From what i saw, beach resorts seem expensive to eat and drink

We're using points at the Sheraton. I'm still trying to hang on to this cruise, but we'll be giving up the 3 night one as our DGS would like a trip to DL in Nov. for his birthday. Who can say no to a 7 yr old?

I haven't been on the boards lately as out of town and no internet. Currently at the library using the computers.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone. With it getting cold, I am looking forward to this next year.

For those of us doing the B2B, will we have to bring two costumes? ;-)
