hello,

We are entertaining the idea of camping at fort wilderness. We were looking at November, However when I went to look at pricing it literally didn’t show anything available.

Does that mean we are out of luck and everything is booked or do they not release certain dates until later?

We would prefer a tent site, Looking at nov 4-9

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Halloween is the Wednesday before that which is a very popular time at the Fort and usually booked up at least a year in advance, I tried to shift dates a little bit either way of your dates and seems to all be booked up.
November is a pretty popular month to camp at the Fort.

Yeah, what Chris said.

We like the Thanksgiving time frame and we usually are booking at th 500 day mark if we even have a hi t at going during that time.

Thanks guys!

We found 5 days in mid/late October, Doesn’t fit our anniversary date but who cares if you get to go to Disney!

Just praying there’s no hurricanes this year as last year we spent two weeks with no power and would have not even considered going camping in October lol

Well along with teamubr we were down in Disney just after the hurricane.

Yes we were. Other than being HUMID, HOT and crowded (everyone rescheduled to the week we were there), WDW handled a Cat 3 direct hit incredibly well.

The second week the crowds were much better, but it was still hot and humid.

Yep, FLkid,

The Fort keeps getting more and more popular.

You would think being early August and looking at early November that there would be availability (especially since you are looking at weekday nights). Weekends (Fri and Sat nights) are very popular with locals who can drive a few yours each way and get two days in at the Fort and/or the parks.

Other than a little infilling, the Fort hasn't expanded in 40 years. So while the number of campsites has remained fixed, the number of people has grown markedly and with the boomers having kids, spending time outdoors in tents, trailers, and rv's, the demand has increased (which drives the prices we pay via supply-and-demand).

For those reading, I usually recommend booking a Fort campsite as soon as you know you have an itch to go at a certain time. Better to have a reservation and not need it than to want one and not be able to get it.

You might be able to pick up nights as people cancel or change plans closer to your travel dates and with lots of diligence on your part, you can probably cobble together enough nights at the tent level to combine them into the length of stay you are looking for. But it will require vigilance on your part.

Good luck!
