Not enough beds in one bedroom suite

One of the reasons we bought DVC was the guarantee of a king bed. If they ever tried to put us (or a lot of other people) in a room with two queens, first you'd hear the howling to California and back again, and second they'd be facing a lawsuit based on the POS. It's not jsut FL law, it's the law in any state they registered the POS with, which is most of the states they are allowed to market in.

That said, they could add the fold out chair in the living room if they could figure out how to squeeze it in without changing any of the already existing furniture. They could replace the chairs in the bedroom with a fold out chair, but that kind of defeats the point of having a seperate bedroom for most people.

WOW!!!! ALL I SAID was I WISH...... I didn't say anyone should or would do it....you people need to RELAX.... I was ONLY EXPRESSING MY OPINION!

I wasn't trying to get flamed or say that it should happen (I said that I WISH...) I too, knew what I was getting when I bought in and usually stay in a two bedroom....

I'm with you, would like to see some units with 2 queens instead of 1 king. But yes, I knew what I bought, and am not complaining. You should not be getting flamed like you are though, you have a right to express what you would like.

I know they can't change the layout, and I am OK with that. Us people who think that a 2-br is unecessary for 4-5 people need to lobby for the 2 queen option in 1 brs in new DVCs! Not that it would happen, of course.....

Okay, what did I miss? I didn't see anyone getting flamed. I saw folks stating why they didn't ever want that to change, and that is no different than stating that you want it to change. Just opinions...nothing else.

Dead, dead, dead. This horse has been dead for a few years already. Where is that dead horse smilie that I've seen posted a few times.;)

You're not going to get two queens in the master bedroom of any existing resort. You're not going to get extra beds added to any existing resort. All because of FL regulations regarding timeshares.

Like Sammie said, I knew what I was getting when I bought my first set of DVC points 10 years ago. The room layouts are not a problem for me. I don't stay in studios - they are too small and no washer and dryer - and NO KING SIZED BED. (I need a king sized bed smilie. Any help on this Mods???)

here's one instance....

One doesn't have to try to get flamed. Actually, I think you just felt the warm glow of passion for a king bed. Don't muck with the king beds.

RELAX....

No flaming, I don't think... just some experienced DVC'rs voicing opinion. You must expect other opinions with any question or opinion posed.

Thanks for clearing that up for me ROB....the world's a better place having you in it...;)

I wish that some of the one bedroom units had two queens in the bedroom instead of just one king.......

Wow, could you guys imagine the trip report from someone who got "stuck" with a two queen master bedroom? I think it might be an even worse review than people getting the VWL room with no balcony.

I wish they had more beds like AKV. I have 2 girls and the sofa bed wasn't really a concern when we bought in - but, now I'm starting to consider the air mattress option. My girls are "violent" sleepers - seems like someone is always getting kicked in the head or something when they share a bed ...

Agree.

Isn't the whole point of having a 1 BDR is to have a seperate bedroom anyway?

I would be so ticked if there were 2 queens in the 1 BDR.

It has to do apparently with the legal description of what you bought, which described (apparently, I'll admit, I haven't read my contract as closely as some here) the sleeping arrangements. Any significant change to how the unit is furnished is a violation of FL timeshare regs (my understanding only - and completely based on what I've read here). I agree with spiceycat, its seems possible to me that they might be able to do a pull out chair without that being significant enough, but apparently, even that's problematic.
Thanx, crisi. I guess that clears up the "why", but it just seems silly if they can't swap a reclining chair for a regular chair... :sad2:
