No fishing excursion at Castaway Cay? What to do if water is too cold.

Hmmm... do not see the deep sea fishing excursion at Castaway Cay listed. Has it been discontinued? We are cruising in January and I was looking for options, since I figure the water will be way too cold to spend the day snorkeling. Is shorty wet suit rental available? Other suggestions for January?

We were there twice....once Feb 2000 (the first week) and once in December 2002 (first week also) and if I remember correctly the water temp was 82 both times. Much warmer than Colorado or Chicago in Feb....

Hey AbitJaded:

As to fishing excursion, officially DCL says it had "vendor problems' with the excursion operator.

Maybe they'll be back after the Vendor isn't such a problem.

BD, myself and others are waiting with "baited breath".

(Get it, "Baited breath"? tee hee......)

We have also cruised in Jan. x2 and are going again 1/17/04 (we miss you by a week!). We have swam and snorkeled both times with weather in the mid-upper 80s.

We are definitely planning a beach/snorkel day for our day on CC.

Thanks all, hope you are right about the water temp, but knowing our luck from other January-tropical-water-80-degrees, it will probably be sheer luck if we even dock at CC (long stories deleted ;) ). My kid's morning breath could sometimes be used as bait for scavenger fish.
