As I think about it, there are time's I'll use 'Dear'. It's usually without thinking but sometimes as an affectation. Like with mock formality.

Oh yeah, this one has always been cringey for me.at one point he started calling me “Ma.” I nipped that real quick.
I was looking up an acronym for something completely unrelated and discovered there is a pretty well established kink based on this. Not suggesting this is the case here but there might be a wealth of ammunition to be used in future teasing. And I'm not meaning to disparage anyone's kinks per se, whatever between consenting adults and all that, but this one does make me squeamish.My sister-in-law calls my brother "Daddy" and it does creep me out a bit, so we tease her about it.
