New Disney Theme Park reservation system

Our daughter assigned to us a couple of her one day cast member comp tickets. I wonder if those will work to get us at least one park day.

I really wish Disney would put something out if it's true that only those with bookings for 2020 can start booking on Monday. The system is going to be overloaded as it is without adding those that are trying to book for 2021 and then find out they can't book yet. Also, I have seen people post that they have received an email for the trip in 2021 telling them they can book on June 22nd. While I have a reservation for Aug 2020 and have received no email.

I agree because I just read that today they Re saying something different..so it is nuts.

So, until they open it up, I guess we have to wait because they seem to be changing their minds with what they are sharing with different groups.

Does anyone think there’s a chance you can show up at your reserved park at your reserved time, and still be denied admission due to capacity? (besides a failed temperature check or some other behavior- or weather-related reason)

No, you will book the day ahead of time and once you are confirmed, the spot is yours

Only those with pre existing Disney Resort reservations and tickets both linked to their MDE can book Park reservations on Monday.

So here's my question. We intended to book using points for september 2021. We have APs. Since we cannot book for next september until this october (11 month home reort window), then as I'm reading it, we can only make 3 days or park reservations? But anyone with tickets or regular resort reservations can book length of stay? Seems like AP holders and dvc members are getting the short end of the stick. With any luck, by the time we get to next year, capacity will have increased, but in the meantime, the messaging is not comforting. I really don't want to come off as a complainer, and I'm hoping I missed something. I just keep stewing on that in my head.

Here is a timeline for reservations:

June 22nd Park reservations open for those with Resort reservations and existing tickets. Make sure everything and everyone in your party is linked to your MDE.
June 26 Park reservations open up to Annual Passholders
June 28th Park reservations open up to other existing ticket holders.
also:
By June 28th 2021 packages and theme park tickets will go sale.
Later this summer and based on availability packages and tickets will go on sale for the rest of 2020.

We fully understand that - the question is why are they clogging the system with those that have 2021 reservations while those with 2020 reservations are trying to book. Seems like a way to make the whole system crash. @Sandisw said they had seen where only those with 2020 reservations could book on Monday. I have a trip planned for Aug 2020 - why should someone with a trip planned for Aug 2021 get in and clogged up the system before I can get in and make my reservations. This is what doesn't make sense.

Yes, but yesterday several were told that it would only open On Monday for those guests with 2020 stays and not 2021 until later in the week.

Now, it sounds like they are telling people everyone can Try Monday,

It has been inconsistent.l.but with Disney they always say subject to change.

And the reason they were supposed to only start with 2020 was to get a better handle on current so they can open up ticket sales as soon as possible.

Now, if the system crashes and isn’t working well because everyone is trying, it very well could delay when they can get more people in for 2020 who have to wait for ticket sales to resume.

I'm worried about my AP status not being updated with the extension on my MDE profile. It still says it expires in July and prompts me to renew. The renewal page says I am good through November. I have a hotel reservation in September and per my email, I can make park reservations on Monday. I can't help but think there will be a glitch and I'll be on the phone Monday morning.

They will ONLY be handling those with packages in 2020 on June 22. They aren't reserving parks with anyone who has a 2021 package until later.

I am not being clear. I am not talking about buying packages.

There are conflicting reports of who can book park reservations Monday.

Yesterday, many of my sources were told on Monday only those with a 2020 reservation and tickets would be allowed.

Now, it is being reported that everyone with a reservation and tickets, whether it is for 2020 or 2021 will be able to reserve park days starting Monday.

Yes, 2021 packages can’t be bought until later in the week, but there are DVC members and cash guests who have both 2021 rooms booked and have tickets and seem to be being told today they can go on Monday and reserve their park days.

Those with 2021 packages will not be able to book park reservations Monday. Only those with existing 2020 resort reservations and existing tickets linked to MDE can make park reservations Monday. I hope that's clearer. That information is straight from the horses mouth. In fact reservation specialists can't see any info on those with pre existing 2021 pkgs (in regards to booking park reservations even as of today).

Thank you. That is whay I was told but there are several CMs who have told other something different today and people posted screenshots of the chats on the Rumors thread

So we have to book a park reservation for every day without days off for breaks? The wording sounds like we have to book every day of the visit if we have multi day tickets. We had a 14 day resort stay planned with 8 day tickets with scheduled breaks between days...is this no longer possible?
