Neighbourhood Balcony Room on Oasis

We're considering a cruise this summer and am seeing a great price on one... I read on a royal carribean blog that with these rooms, starting in 2016 they come with free drinks and food and more? Is that true?

When you shop the rooms it shows what freebies are offered when you pick the type of room. It varies by neighborhood. Bottle of wine, Casino lessons, Johnny Rockets meal, soda packages, and rock climbing sessions are some of the common amenities. If you don't see it listed on Select Room screen then it probably isn't included.

We booked a Boardwalk Balcony on Symphony and it has 2 soda packages meal for 4 at Johnny Rockets and rock wall session. The Central Park rooms also offer a few different freebies.

It was a guarantee room, so they'd select the room for us and the price was awesome!!!! There wasn't any option to view details. :)

As the old saying goes "You snooze, you lose", that option is no longer available. :( It was $1500 less.

That's great! I would take any neighbourhood room. Both kinds look so unique and Central Park ones as relaxing (and fun to look out...and even check out line ups at Central Park) and Boardwalk ones as so fun! That's a huge savings too. Totally worth it.
I would think that you would get the extra package since they go with all neighbourhood rooms ...just depends on which room type you get for which extra package. You can always call Royal to confirm as above poster is thinking otherwise. AS a note, I don't see anything on my invoice for our Boardwalk Balcony so think it's probably a standard feature (unless they remove the option for new sailings it at some point before we get to our sailing).

Does Royal Caribbean regularly offer Guarantee rooms? We missed out on the deal yesterday because I waited too long... and when I went back to book it, the Guarantee option was no longer available.

Oh sorry..misread your last post. Thought you meant you booked it. I've seen them pop up sometimes and then go, so you can keep checking. It may though depend on the number of unsold rooms? On the opposite side, we have Mariner booked and for interior rooms, we only have the option of Guarantee which is odd....so guess it depends on the ship and date.
P.S. - As a trick if you check the royal UK site, then you can tell the actual available rooms (for non guarantee). For some reason, the US site doesn't show all of them for booking.

That stinks that you missed it. Here is what is officially included. We had an interior guarantee on Allure in April last year and got assigned a central Park Balcony (SCORE!!). The perks were great. Although we already had a drink package so we had 4 soda cups lol.

NEIGHBORHOOD BALCONIES

Enjoy exclusive complimentary amenities.

Park View Balcony:

  • Savor a complimentary lunch for two at Giovanni's Table, Jamie's Italian, Sabor or Johnny Rockets®.
  • A complimentary bottle of red wine welcomes your arrival.
  • Step up your game with casino gaming lessons from an onboard expert.

Boardwalk View Balcony:

  • Classic hamburgers and more at a complimentary meal for four at Johnny Rockets®.
  • Enjoy unlimited soft drinks throughout the cruise with a soda package for two guests.
  • Tackle the Rock Climbing Wall at a session for the entire family.

I have a Central Park balcony for my upcoming August cruise. Not my favourite, as the last time I had it the airflow was lacking, but as @Frozen2014 said the views are cool. You can sit there, sip coffee and people watch if that's your thing.

That was a great assignment. :) I only started looking a few weeks ago, and not overly familiar with how things work with Royal Carribean. So I'm curious if we might expect to see those guarantee deals again?

Also, the fact that a Rock Climbing wall session is complimentary with the Boardwalk rooms, I'm guess there is a cost for Rock Climbing otherwise????

No cost for rock wall for anyone. Am curious too what the difference is for people staying in a boardwalk balcony room.

I was delighted to see that the GTY Neighbourhood Stateroom became available again this morning. We booked our first Royal Caribbean cruise, wahoo. We've only cruised once before and that was with Disney 5 years ago. We loved it so much but it just hasn't worked out for us to do another since. I'm so very excited. I just had a glance at our cruise planner and I know I will love planning the details. Lots of questions I'm sure!!!! :) :) :)

Happy for you that the guarantee room popped up again for you.
Keep us posted on your room assignment....and what you think of Royal Oasis class.

My only concern with our upcoming first boardwalk balcony is remembering to close the curtains when dressing, etc. :fish:Going to go with we would be in fish bowl of sorts lol.

We snagged the last one, looking forward to best of both worlds as to the balcony with view of aquatheather & ocean. Haven’t heard if they will be putting the water slide obstruction in on Oasis after drydock or not to mess up that view.:rolleyes1

Water slides would be above you so no worries if that were to happen. I don't see Abyss being added to Oasis or Allure. You never know but I think they'd need to do an overhaul on parts of at least 3 decks to make that happen. I hope they don't - to me Abyss is the equivalent of the Aqua Duck - something that looks cool but at the end of the day isn't something I'd bother doing more than once.
