Up next is the "Coca Cola 600" at Charlotte Motor Speedway on SUNDAY, May 26th.
Qualifying is set for THURSDAY at the Spectrum Pole night May 23rd.
Please make your picks before qualifying is scheduled to begin.
Some fun facts and interesting tidbits.
Charlotte Motor Speedway is a quad Oval super speedway with a lap distance of 1.50 miles. 400 laps will be raced for a total race distance of 600 miles.
The race distance of 600 miles is the longest race on the NASCAR schedule.
The Coca Cola 600 is considered unique for a reason other than its distance. The first 3rd of the race is drastically bathed in sunshine. The second 3rd of the race takes place at dusk. The final 3rd is under the lights.
The winningest driver for the 600 is Darryl Waltrip with 5 wins.
#18 leads the active drivers with 4 trips to Victory Lane. #4 is right behind the active driver list with 2 wins.
This race is also unique because it is the only race with 4 stages. And salso the amount of points available. All other tracks have a maximum of 60 points. This race has a max of 70.
Last year, not only was the race won by #18 Kyle Busch, he also won all 4 stages too and gained the 70 point maximum. Quite an accomplishment as he chases Darryl Waltrip for most wins.
My picks:
Kyle Busch <~~~ I have faith...
Kurt Busch <~~~ I set him aside for the All Star race...but...he should do well here
M Truex JR!!! <~~~ In a grueling race like this...he will compete...even with his new home #19..
J Logano <~~~ No reason to believe he will have an off week at Charlotte...
K Harvick <~~~ Now...I ask you...how could I not pick the #4?
My spare will be K Larson <~~~ My tribute for winning the All Star..
Picks from the Princess:
#2
#19
#12
#18
#42
Spare is #11
OK! There you have it!
Good Luck ALL! Enjoy the race!
