The 26th race of the 2019 season is the "Big Machine Vodka 400 at The Brickyard" at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on SUNDAY, September 8th.

Qualifying is the same day! Please make your picks before qualifying is scheduled to begin!

I beg your indulgence! This has been a whirlwind weekend and I am too pooped at the moment to seek and find some facts and tidbits. I hope to post them sometime tomorrow! OK?

Oldest Granddaughter got married Saturday. Entered my canning and Princess Ariel's crocheting at the Fair on Sunday and a fun filled family picnic today!

Also have the Youngest Son up from Orlando for all the festivities and he is rescheduling his flight as I type. Dorian made the Orlando airport close at 2 AM. Just a few hours from now.

Some facts and fun tidbits:

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a 4 turn banked oval with a lap distance if 2.50 miles. 270 laps will be raced for a total race distance of 400 miles.

This track was the first to be called a speedway and that was long before NASCAR scheduled their events at The Brickyard.

Jeff Gordon owns a slew of records here.

Most wins (5) as well as most Top 5's, Top 10's laps completed, laps led and shares the most poles with Kyle Busch.

#18 K Busch holds the record for laps led in a single race with 149 laps.

#4 K Harvick has the highest average finish ever.

The most wins by an active driver is #48 J Johnson with 4. Kyle Busch has 2 and #2 and #6 each have one.

The #2 was the winner of the race in 2018.
