"Naming" Links!

Hello there!

How do I change the link in my signature, so it shows just the name of the food report? At the moment I have posted the name next to the link, but I'm sure there is a way to re-name the link the food report name so it looks nicer!

Ok, go to User CP and click on "change my signature" or whatever it says...

Now, highlight your link, and cut or copy it. next, highlight the name of your trip report, and then click the little icon up by "font" and"sizes" that looks like a little planet earth. In the little window that pops up, paste the link you copied earlier. Click "apply" or "OK". Now the name of your trip report should be underlined, and it should be a clickable link.

Find the code in your signature and take a look at it. Your one link looks like this:

[URL="http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1837106"]http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1837106[/URL]

Notice it repeats the URL twice. The first and last part is the actual link as shown in red below. The middle part is what displays. This is shown in blue below. If no display text is entered, then the default is to display the link URL.

Just edit the middle part to the text you want to display. Example:

[URL="http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1837106"]This is my Link[/URL]

And then your link will appear like this:

This is my Link

In the future, when you insert a link into your post or signature, note that when the code is pasted into your post/signature, that the middle section as shown in blue above is highlighted. Immediately just type the text you want and it will replace the highlighted text (which is the default) with your new text.

Once you move the cursor and the highlight disappears, then you would need to manually replace the default text with your desired text.
