Name Spelled Incorrectly on Cruise Docs

My hubby is leaving Friday with the kids for a 5 day - logged in to complete pre-check in and realized the Travel Agent used the incorrect last letter of their names (same as his last name, which is, ironically, spelled correctly). He had noticed it and let them know when he first made the reservation, but obviously they never fixed the problem.

They're driving (not flying) to the port, but will anyone at DCL notice/ mind that one letter of the last name is wrong? I'm rather perturbed as the whole purpose of using a TA was to make things easier, but I digress.
Feedback??

I'm not 100% positive, but I thought that the names on your cruise docs needed to be spelled the same as on your passport/ID. Perhaps you can call DCL or your TA and have corrected cruise docs waiting for them at the port?

Call DCL or TA now to get it corrected or noted.

I think it does have to match the passport. My nieces name was not correct on our reservation, or it wasn't her actual full name. I emailed my TA and she changed it for me without any trouble.

It's very important to get this fixed as soon as possible. Disney probably wouldn't mind, but it's not their decision; it's a customs issue.

I would call DCL immediately. If the TA needs to handle this, DCL will let you know. But, it needs to be fixed. It does matter.

That's nothing - my travel agent entered info wrong and my husband's first name was listed as MY middle name!

A phone call is all it takes to fix it. :)

Thanks everyone. Good to know Disney won't have an issue with it. I was nervous!

1) That is not was what was said . . .

2) Yes, Disney might not have a problem.
3) But, Disney MUST follow Customs' dictates.
4) So, if the Customs rule is same name, Disney WILL enforce it.
5) Besides, TSA may not let you through security with non-matching names.
6) Get the TA to change the ressie names FAST.

I would call the TA today and have them fix it. It's *possible* that such an issue so close to the cruise could be taken care of with a call directly to Disney, possibly, if you got the right rep, but the TA is obviously the real person to take care of it.

We had a similar issue... dh was listed as David on his passport but Dave on his cruise docs... we had no problem; but I did call DCL in advance to inquire and they assured me we'd be fine. YMMV!

Think TSA regs, as others have posted, not Disney. My daughter had a lot of trouble trying to get her 4 yr old through security because she typo'd his middle name on boarding pass so it lacked the double consonant that was on his passport.
You don't want to leave any possibility of being challenged.

My cruise docs once had a slight error of my last name. Someone somewhere obviously decided it should be spelled the most common way instead of the correct way. The moment the docs arrived, I phoned DCL and they rushed me corrected docs which I received in 2 days.

THIS is why I always book directly with DCL, so I have the power to see that any problems are resolved immediately. I'm a control freak and would be a nervous wreck waiting for a TA to get around to fixing any issues.

NOTE: There ARE benefits to using a TA (I used to be a CDK Disney Specialist myself and my first cruise was a DCL agent education program "cruise college"), but my own peace of mind comes from not relying on a "middleman." ;)

In any case, when there are "issues," never reduce the problem to what you think you can get away with or what you hope will go unnoticed. Just fix it or insist that your TA fix it. :)
