SOME CAJUN MUSIC TO GETCHA N THE MOOD FOR THIS ADVENTURE......

****FROM THE 'WHAT THE WHAT?" DEPARTMENT****

SO
as I have been just a tearing it up on Ebay recently,

and -

(PIC OF JUST SOME OF MY PURCHASES; FROM POSTING #88)



.....buying things just a wee bit unusual and that I remember as a Kid
when
I ran across a purchase of some 1910s notes that the buyer felt bad since he "just noticed" a very small tear on one of them and included in his package to me some other items as a small token of his apologies --

Well.....that really wasn't on my mid (his apology) until four of the above pictured items ($100 bills / notes) fell out of the package and onto my desk......


I looked at these things for a few minutes - for a flash "thought of keeping quiet" then thought better of it.......


THEN......
I began to feel weird -

THEN I had a reaction to take these things to my local bank and ask them if they are real.......


THEN someone at my work Googled this topic and lo and behold.........
I was holding in my hand for the very first time -

** FAKE MONEY**
Felt lighter to the touch.... and the foreign writing on it?? - DEAD GIVE A WAY -


Needless to say, it sure was fun taking those fake $100 notes on over to a nearby shredder putting them out of their misery....




Felt better about it afterwards as well -


BUT..........
then came the day (a few days prior) I had jjuussttt a weeeee bit toooooo much fun with the Margaritas and I saw this on Ebay:

Sows I got a little crazy with the "confirm" button and then lo and behold...
*** WOWZERS!***


I DID WHAT??
(I bid $110.16)


OOPSIE!!

Talk about sweating bullets these last two days!!


I was just a dabbling with the topic....
didnt really have any expressed interest in it -


And so the

Bidding got quiet these past three days.....



THEN......
there was a bidding for a similar watch -
just circa 1912 -

and
THANK GOSH the bidding came up to $110.xx as well
So of course, someone lost on that bidding
and
that got me ta thinking.....

HMMMMMM.........
ya dont suppose since yesterday afternoon???


Well....
I checked on my "tipsy Railroad Conductor watch"
and


the
bidding


YUP -
ya guessed it.....

****CAME UP TO $113.XX!!****




and the clouds parted with the choir singing that "Hal ley lew ya"
as I took in a huge sigh of relief with some MMUUCCHH needed advice to give to all of ya:


1) Think b4 ya speak.
1) Think b4 ya hit that "Send Button."


and

2) BE CAREFUL WITH THAT "CONFIRM BUTTON" WHEN UR ON EBAY
(especially when you have had a "few" margaritas)



sO.....

what better way I thought to wind up my silliness on Ebay than by buying something a barely remember in the grocery stores as a Kid

Expect now these below pictured drinking mugs to appear in my PO box in the next few days....

FYI -
some of their names are -

Lefty Lemon, Goofy Grape, Loud-mouth Lime, Freckle Face Strawberry and Rootin’ Tootin’ Raspberry.



Yes - two of the above characters names had to be changed - but that's for a later topic
--(changed to - "Choo Choo Cherry and Jolly Olly Orange.") --




Have been making A LOT of Ebay purchases these last few weeks -

from baseball cards, to vintage coins, money, Monopoly game pieces, Astroworld mugs, Texas Renaissance Festival mugs, football cards, Agatha Christie things, etc --


Will promise to post some pictures of all what I have been doing
as my birth date (December 30th) gets nearer -




Can't believe it wont be that much longer & I will b n Nawlins

seems to be having some separation anxiety issues whenever I leave to go to work.....

just by luck, I stumbled across the above website -

Ya know what they say and classical music soothing a Dog's nerves.



Leaving the hallway light on as well -
will keep all ya in tune on how she's doing....



Pstttt!!! Looks like Santa Beagle has also been shopping for her on E-bay recently as well -

Can't believe I am actually surviving this weekend.....

Without tooooooo much silliness occuring -
even though I will admit the grease fire and the unauthorized entry did rattle me a bit but it sure was fun emptying a whole can of Fire extinguisher onto the grease fire just to get it under control -


Took two hours to get the issue resolved as
all is well though until my next challenge which is on November 5th when its -

vs

In other news -
I've stopped by dropping weight at a 17 lb weight loss - which is just exactly what I want heading into Nawlins -




and of course, ya cant have a posting on Disboards without Ladybug -
who is doing much better with her separation anxiety as its the classical music and a night light thats helping -



With that,
can't believe n a 'couple of more hours,' it will be time for me to begin packing for this sourie

So I'm having fun redecorating the House and...

you know.....buying things for my Dec 30th Birthday / Christmas when
just something about collecting all things Disney just all of a sudden grabbed a hold of me and it all started with a map I bought off of E bay the other you see in the above video -


and also what jumped out at me were some pretty neat pictures of DISneyana:

and

just to give you an idea. Now the framed map will go over the fireplace and the other pictures (even got some of the HM stretching Room) will def go in other places throughout the house --- pics forthcoming I promise.


But that map......
I can tell that thing is going to look impressive on the wall when it comes in the mail in a few more days.....
(yes, a few more pics of what I have been buying off a E bay will be posted n a few more weeks).........



along with what I will be doing in April while out in Arlington Texas...

Am getting "in practice" for many a visit
to Cafe Du Monde
by recently ordering some Peppernuts from Prairieharvest.com -

and
ya head on out n2 the backyard w/Ladybug with some of those along with a hot cup of fantastic
hot chocolate laced with cinnamon

just makes helping Ladybug
"find" Squirrel that much more enjoyable.......



SPEAKING OF LADYBUG......



Her
'hotel ressies' have all been set.....
(portable radio will be brought for her stay and set to a .......yup - a classical music radio station while we are away from each other )



ANYWHO -

got my bare essentials pack in my carry on -

Gave a quick call to gocollette.com (The Vendor I booked this vacation thru) and just found out the hotel where I be staying at is less than a 5 min walk 2 Cafe du Monde

So gonna do me best to just b spoiled rotten daily with hot chocolate and beignets...... thinking seriously of having them at nighttime .... I mean hey- some people have "the big cookie" and milk on a DCL cruise.....

Pre-day - Get Ladybug 'checked into her Hotel for very spoiled Pooches, etc.
While I head out to Dave & Busters for the day.


then -

Day1
New Orleans, Louisiana - Tour Begins
Step into a cultural melting pot in the “Jazz Capital of the World” – New Orleans! This soulful city abounds with rich history, mouth-watering Cajun and Creole cuisine, and an incomparable soundtrack.


Get pre-check into the Hotel around 10am, then I
have a 1:30pm "French Quater Culinary History & Tasting Tour"

Then,
I turn around and check out the sights and sounds of the Two Sisters Restaurant for dinner at 6:30pm.....

Followed by boogying on back to the Bourbon Hotel and catch the last 1/2 of the Collete.com's Group Meet & Greet around 8:3pm ish...........

Then head out out for a couple of Hurricanes afterwards.....
followed by my boogying on over to Cafe Du Monde for a well deserved nightcap of beignets and hot chocolate = YUM!!

Day4
New Orleans
This morning, enjoy a panoramic tour of New Orleans with a local guide. Begin by seeing St. Louis Cemetery #3 which opened in 1854 and holds some of the most elaborate crypts found in the city’s cemeteries. Then, relax during a drive along the shoreline of Lake Pontchartrain. This romantic road eventually leads to St. Charles Avenue, whisking you past gorgeous mansions as well as Tulane and Loyola, two world-famous universities. This afternoon, the choice is once again yours! Take a walk through history at the National World War II Museum to learn about the American experience in the war. Or, you may prefer to celebrate the festive side of New Orleans at Mardi Gras World; come to know the history of this unique tradition and tour a working warehouse where artisans create spectacular floats for the famous parades. Tonight, enjoy a taste of New Orleans during dinner at one of the French-Creole restaurants the city is known for.

Followed by a 2:30pm four hour Spa Retreat at Spa Aria (10 min walk from where I will be staying at)........
FYI - this isnt part of GoCollette.com vacation as I have booked this Spa retreat on my own....


Swing on back to ?????? to go have a nice relaxing dinner afterwards followed by "a little bit of this and a little bit of that"

Gosh only knows whatever else until what time of the morning -

DAY 6
AKA "Departure Day"
Get 'tossed' outta da Hotel Bourbon

at approx 11am for a 2pm flight back to the DFW area with a pocketfull of wonderful memories.....


POST DAY
Head on out to Pappadeaux Restaurant for a bit, then -
Check Ladybug outta her Hotel, come back home and have a nice evening rellaxing....
