Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Returns in 2022!!!

Semi-related, but with the Halloween party starting back, do we think there will still be extended evening hours at MK on Wednesdays in August? At least it's a different day of the week, but I wasn't sure about staffing overall.

Goodness, I hope they don't allow parties to mess with that perk. They have already taken so much away from on-site guests, and they've been advertising those evening hours heavily. I think they have to keep them. They still offered regularly scheduled EMH throughout the party season in the beforetimes...

We were thinking of possibly cancelling our reservations for August. This makes that decision a lot tougher. MNSSHP is like our most favorite thing ever.

so before last year we had never been to a Halloween/Christmas party so last year was our first experience with an after-hours event and we did the Christmas one and DH LOVED LOVED it!!

we will be at Disney Oct 16-21st and there are 2 party dates that fall during our trip - the 18th (Tues) and 20th (Thursday)....and I'm trying to decide do we do Tues or Thursday or both ??!!!!

We fly out on Friday the 21st with a 10:40am flight, so I'm not worried about staying out super late the night before...

I almost wonder if going to 2 parties will take the pressure off trying to see/do everything in 1 night - when we went to the After hours Christmas one I felt we either needed to ride a ride, or watch a parade or fireworks, and we certainly skipped the rides for the special events but I still feel like we could have done more if there was more time... :confused3

Its just DH and I and we're staying at BLT so it's super easy to get back to the hotel...

and I don't want to say that the budget isn't an issue, but...... :rolleyes1 ....Disney can just take my money... :crazy2: and we have APs/DVC, so with the discount, of $20/evening if we do 2 nights of parties, that's $40 in savings...so that's worth it right??

:rotfl2: Gotta love that Disney math!!

What happens to people who have park passes for a Halloween Party day? Will we have to leave the park by 7:00? How is that controlled?
Once the party officially starts, they do start "weeding" non party guests out. Announcements are make about the start of the event. Party guests receive a wristband and once the party starts, CM's do not let anyone without a wristband past certain areas. There are usually CM's stationed at each land entrance and if you do not have a wristband, you are turned away and sent towards Main Street. Eventually if you are not a guest, you are nicely escorted to the exit. Escorted may be a little to strong a term, but you are made to feel like it's time to leave. After a certain point, you will be graciously walked to the exit.

last year when we did the after hours Christmas party, as we came in they gave us party bands and as it turned 7pm to get on a ride you had to show the band or you couldnt get off.

Then I believe they tell you that its for party guests and you had to leave....

Am assuming if you’re already at the park with a ticket there’s somewhere you can pick up a wristband inside the park and you don’t have to leave and re-enter?

Has anyone had success paying for tickets with Disney gift cards? What about the disney visa rewards cards?

There will be several locations to get a wristband and treat bag inside the park for those attending the party who are already in MK.

I am actually surprised they didn’t up the price more—I thought they would go for the $175-$250 range so this is a pleasant surprise. We have been twice and loved it, so hoping to maybe s eat one of the October dates as a add on to Fall Break beach trip
I suspect there will be very few nights at the $109 and far more at the $150+ mark. So you still won't be off by much.

I definitely think this is true, with some caveats. Disney can't seem to build up crowds in late August/early September. The weather is surface-of-the-sun hot, people aren't pulling their kids in the first couple weeks of school, etc. In 2019, even the opening of SW:GE wasn't enough to drive demand, leading to some of the most pleasant park touring if you were lucky enough to attend EEMH mornings.

I think the early parties just don't have enough demand to sell out, even with Disney having the ticket prices be so much lower at that time.
Hope you are right! I will be at Universal in August and could go to the 8/16 party if I can get a ticket. We will be at WDW on May 18 so it will be a pain trying to purchase if the online system is slow.

Does anyone (and I’m not sure if this is the right place to post) does MK still show their normal fireworks on different nights than the night they are having Mickey’s Not So Scary?

Yes, Halloween fireworks are party only.

Non-party nights, it will be Disney Enchanted.
