We are coming back from a cruise in Miami and have to drop off rental car at MCO. Can we use DME to get to our Disney resort? When reserving the room it ask when our flight comes in...
In case you are unaware, there are also car rental desks at several locations on Disney World property. It all depends upon where companies need cars, but returning the car at Disney might end up being cheaper. It avoids having to take Disney's Magical Express (which can include a "tour" of multiple Disney Resorts prior to getting to your resort).
So, you can drive up from Miami and go directly to your Disney Resort to drop off luggage (and maybe passengers). Then, drive the car to the rental desk to return it. Finally, get a ride from the shuttle back to your resort (for Alamo/National Car Care Center location) or walk over to Disney Springs and take a Disney bus to your resort (for other rental companies).
Alamo: Locations at the Car Care Center (shuttle available), Walt Disney World Dolphin (no transportation available), Hilton Buena Vista Palace (walk to Disney Springs)
Avis: Hilton Lake Buena Vista (walk to Disney Springs)
Hertz: Holiday Inn Orlando-Disney Springs (walk to Disney Springs)
Enterprise: B Resort and Spa (walk to Disney Springs)
Budget: DoubleTree Suites Lake Buena Vista (walk to Disney Springs)
Dollar: Wyndham Lake Buena Vista (walk to Disney Springs)
Doing it this way may not work with your reservation, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Some people don't realize that there are car rental locations that are relatively accessible on Disney World property.
I wasn't intending for anyone to simply show up at a different location and try to return the car. Everything should be finalized prior to the start of the rental.
