So anyway, the cruise on Majesty of The Seas was ok. We had low expectations. There wasn't much to do but we brought cards and borrowed their checkers chess, and scrabble games. The only games they had available. There were some drunk folks but they behaved themselves.
One entire side of the pool deck was designated for smoking. That may be a bad idea. The fumes carry over too much. There were cigar smokers and pipe smokers on board.
It was difficult to watch the outside movie screen, it was blocked by so many things, stair rails, umbrella's, poles, people. But, we did enjoy the movie anyway. They had Pirates of the Caribbean (Dead men tell no tales) and the Mummy. My husband said he would miss getting ice cream in a cup and watching a movie in the Buena Vista theater. So, I got a bowl and a spoon and had the ice cream host fill the bowl for him.
Viola! Ice cream and a movie. He was a happy camper.
There were not many kids on board. The dynamics was mostly older ladies and gentlemen, couples, folks with toddlers. I did not see any teenagers. Maybe a handful of kids age 6-12.
The ship is very old looking with very dirty carpets except in the dining areas. I have to say that the buffet foods on the Majesty of the Seas tasted better then the buffet on the Disney cruises. More flavor and variety. We love Disney, but the food needs improvement. Our dining host in Starlight was a very serious fella, and he bordered on rude. We only went to one of the dinners. Windjammers was open for dinner every night.
Going into the stateroom on the first night, I could tell that everyone was expecting it to be bigger. They walked in there quickly like they were expecting to go back quite a ways but were almost instantly stopped by the bed and almost piled on top of each other. That was funny. The room was very small, but there was enough room for all of our stuff and we did not stay in there much, so it didn't matter. It does help to separate the bed. Much better. It wasn't Disney, but we knew that going in. We had a good time. I never felt bored. Was a little odd that one of the guest service agents seemed to struggle with English. The majority of the guests were speaking English. She just did not understand what I was asking, so I gave up. But, cudos to her for knowing some English. I understand it's a tough language to learn. I would not go again. But, I am happy we went. It was nice enough and a good family vacation.
