I hate to leave things unfinished and yet, this report has set idle too long. Later, I will make my excuses and tell you what has been happening the last, oh say, eight/nine months of my life but for now, let's get this baby moving. I also will reply to all of you who have hung with me and made comments.
Door art for today was one of my favorite characters.
The usual breakfast of coffee and cabanas. No pictures of cabanas, we had the usual oatmeal, fruit, bacon and hash browns. Also, grabbed a couple of fufu coffees from The Cove. I love the Star Wars theme. By the way, I finally broke down and rewatched the first Star Wars movie with Rob and Sarah, our daughter. (I saw it in 1977 with my ex-husband so it was a long, long time ago. Yea, I am old, at least chronology. Also married way too young.) My intention was to watch all of the Star Wars movies so I would learn the stories and characters but I am afraid that I was totally bored during the movie and ended up playing on my computer instead of watching. I will give it another try on maybe a later movie and see if I can focus and not be so ADD during the movie. Which one(s) should I watch?
Today was Jamaica day. I have been fascinated with Jamaica since I was a young adult living in Seattle and would follow (not stalk) Rastafarians down the sidewalk. I loved the way they smelled, a mixture of ganja and patchouli (what can I say, I am a product of the sixties...).
Sailing into port we saw this:
And this:
The weather was warm and humid but felt great! Also, it smelled great, not of ganja and patchouli but of flowers and the sea.
People coming into the "secure" area to work.
Setting up the "Craft market". We did not actually make it into the craft market but did do a bit a shopping elsewhere. I will post our purchases later.
Finally, off the boat for adventures. Today's plan was to do a bit of shopping, pick up something from Jamaica for Sarah who was at school and not with us, a bit of Rum and Beer, for us, not Sarah...and so forth.
We also had a "Disney" excursion planned for this day. We like to visit old houses, we have owned several old houses that we have restored (not renovated but taken them back to their original glory) so today's excursion was geared towards our love of old houses, a tour and lunch at the Good Hope Great House and Plantation Tour. Stay tuned for a recap of the tour and lunch.
I will try to be back tomorrow to continue on with our adventure.
