Lost Recipe :( Anyone know this one??

I was reading the "treasured recipe" thread and thought maybe I could find help here. I have lost my very favorite Thanksgiving dessert recipe.... (yeah written on a little piece of paper...). I searched all weekend- found everything but that! We called it Brownie Pie and I have searched the internet for it but everything I found sounds more complicated than what this was. It might be called Southern Brownie Pie- those recipes are a bit closer and I did get it from a Southern family years ago. It used a store bought regular pie crust and then you melted butter and bakers chocolate and sugar in the microwave and I think added like vanilla and eggs.... poured it into the unbaked shell and baked it up! It was super easy- came out kinda flat- but you serve with whipped cream and it was super good!

I can't find anything with just those ingredients... and I have not a clue how much of anything I used....

Any help???

Is this it? If not I suggest trying your question on the cooking/recipe board here. They might be able to help you out over there. http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=121

Southern Brownie Pie
1 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk (do NOT confuse this with evaporated milk which is a much thinner milk and will not work in this recipe)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa (Hershey's makes this)
3 eggs (beat lightly)
3 TBS plain flour
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
3/4 to 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans are great)
1 pie shell (can make your own or use a store bought crust - don't pre-bake)
Directions:

First, make the pie crust. If you are not a good crust maker, then a great option is the roll out Pillsbury crusts in the refrigerator section at the grocery. It's hard to tell those from homemade. If using a frozen crust, get it out and let it thaw.

Get a medium sauce pan. Put the milk, butter, margarine, and cocoa in the pan. Turn the heat to low and slowly warm until everything is melted and mixed together. Stir occasionally so the mixture does not stick to the pan and scorch.

Take the chocolate mixture off the heat.

Put a spoon of the chocolate mixture in with the eggs beaten in a small bowl. This helps adjust the temperature and keeps the eggs from curdling when suddenly put in with a hot mixture

Next, stir in the eggs (with the dab of hot chocolate), flour, vanilla and nuts. The nuts really are optional but do add a lot to the overall taste of the pie.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes in a 9 inch pie pan. If you're using a smaller pie pan, then you may need to push closer to 50 minutes on the cooking time. The toothpick trick does not work on brownie mixtures. You can lightly tap the center to determine if the brownie filling is set.

Southern Brownie Pie is especially good served warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top. It's also quite good cool.

This pie recipe, unlike many, does not need to be stored in the refrigerator.

Brownie Pie best eaten the first or second day. If it sits longer, then the brownie filling starts to pull away from the crust. It still tastes fine but does not look as nice.

Chocolate Chess Pie

2 blocks unsweetened chocolate
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 unbaked pie crust*

Melt butter and chocolate in saucepan (butter first). Stir til melted. Add other ingredients in order listed, but turn heat way down (don’t cook the eggs!). Mix til combined. Put in pie shell (consistency will be syrupy). Bake at 325 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until set in middle. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

*Tip: I use pet ritz crusts already in the pan, and I find that it turns out better if I do bake the pie shell for a few minutes even though you aren’t supposed to have to. I think that if you use the folded out pie crust that you put into your own pan then maybe you don’t have to bake it. I’ve never used that kind though…
