trying to find out if you will be able to ride a complete circle around. For instance, if we want to leave from our resort and go all the way around and back, will we have to get off at each station, stand in line for the next section. Is the route posted anywhere?

Unlike the Magic Kingdom resort monorail, a gondola does not go through all of the stations in order, in a (vaguely) circular loop.

Except for arriving at Riviera station, you must get off at the end of the line. Then you may choose to take another gondola going the other way for a joyride, or, if you are at Caribbean Beach Station, take a gondola on a different line.

Riviera station is between Epcot and CBR, the latter two are ends of a line.

The other two lines are CBR to Hollywood Studios and CBR to Pop Century/Art of Animation (one end of line station shared by the last two resorts)..

Technically each line is a (n elongated) loop between its two end of line stations. For Riviera, gondolas going both ways between Epcot and CBR pick up and drop off there.

So you can loop from Pop/AoA to CBR and back; from CBR to DHS and back; and from CBR through Riviera to Epcot and back. At least, those are the routes. Nobody knows for sure if everyone will be expected to exit at each station.

At at some times of day there may be a queue (a pool) of gondolas between the disembarking platform and the boarding platform. If you don't get out and CMs on the platform overlooked you then your gondola might (depending on station layout and furnishings) go behind a barre or some shoji panels and languish there before it takes its turn coming out onto the boarding platform and finally takes off going the other way.

Riviera being an en-route (intermediate) station will not have a queue of gondolas stored between the platforms and through guests will not get out there and walk to the gondola at the front of the queue. Some occupied gondola queueing might occur if a guest needed much extra time to alight or board but this is not expected to be frequent and would rarely involve many gondolas.

It's may not be allowed because:
  1. The doors remain open thru the turnaround.
  2. The cabins move thru the turnaround at a higher speed than the unload and load.
  3. There's no level platform on the turnaround.
So they would not want to risk someone deciding to get off during the turnaround. If the cm's have a way to manually close the doors at the unload platform, it might be an option.

I was wondering the same....do you HAVE to exit. Monorail you don't, so.. curious about this. Ill bet you have to exit...but we will see.

Thank you everyone! All very interesting info. I’m so excited about this, we often stay at Pop. Going to dinner In Epcot is tough because of the long walk from the front of park. Entering thru International Gateway will be so much easier.

If the gondolas are not running yet you could take the bus from Pop Century to Hollywood Studios and then take the boat to Epcot International Gateway.
