Wow! OMG! I am exhausted! No one warned us on how exhausted we would be! Does anyone talk about that on here? HE HE HA HA!!
So, first trip with dd 12, dd 9 and dd 7 & hubby. We surprised them with an Easter Egg hunt around the house. I will definitely upload this to the Disney website.
We stayed on the first floor of the Park Vue in room 107. This is one of the closest rooms to the store, staircase to breakfast & dinner area and the lobby - oh and Disneyland Was it noisy? Yes! Would I chose this room again? Of course! Only drawback was the size but we were close to everything and slept right through the noise - even the dishes clanging directly upstairs. Earplugs helped. The people were beyond friendly and helpful. Possibly the friendliest staff I've ever met. Breakfast was very filling. Pancakes, bagels, donuts, waffles, eggs, omelets, bacon, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, etc.. We'd fuel up. Spend most of the day at the park. Then, we'd come back for "social" hour which turned out to be a full dinner - salad, chips, potato salad, jello and a main course which changed but nachos, chili dogs, burgers, mac n cheese with chicken nuggets were served during our stay. This saved us a lot of money. (We made the mistake of eating at Ihop one night). We'd also take advantage of the free goodies in the lobby - cookies, water bottles, etc. We did use the Wifi and didn't have too many issues with it. The pool was in the parking lot but we were not bothered by it at all. Our standards aren't too high or low! The girls would have spent the entire trip in there. Hot tub was HOT! We went back up to the eating area to watch the fireworks the first night! We will stay at & recommend this hotel again and again. We could see the entrance to Disneyland from our bed! There is no elevator. So yes, stairs but they said they could serve me food if I couldn't get up/down.
We hit Disneyland our first full day - Saturday. It didn't appear to be too crowded in the morning. I am in a wheelchair which I felt guilty as they escort you through the exit to enter any ride and usually got seated immediately. 2 of our kids were terrified of almost any noise or movement (go figure) so we just did a lot of wandering! By mid day it did get quite busy.
We returned for Fantasmic - very cool! Then, hit a few rides.
Sunday was Easter and we were warned of the 10 out of 10 crowd levels meaning don't even bother going. Take a deep breath... Okay, we were one of maybe 50 groups waiting to enter CA Adventure?!?!? Hubby did the Early Entry and said he was glad he didn't bother waking us up. Not all of the rides were open? We did a meet and greet with Goofy through Disney Visa (no lines). Went on several rides rides in the backlot (no lines). Hit Bugs Life while hubby went on Tower of Tower. The girls loved this area. Again, no lines, and even heard "If you'd like to ride again, just remain in your seat." This on a predicted busier than crazy day? We really wished we had hit Paradise Pier first off but we are newbies. I really don' t think we waited longer than 35 minutes for any ride. It was only 10 minutes for Screaming. You don' t get "cuts" in CA ADV with a wheelchair but only took advantage of using Fastpass and that was on the River Ride. My girls enjoyed Redwood creek the most there..oh and Soaring over CA. We returned in the evening for WOC. Wonderful! I personally liked these shows better than any ride. I insisted on seeing these & glad I did. Hubby went back to close DL park down (out until 1 am
Monday was by far the bUsIeSt day of the 3 yet was predicted to be less busy. Hmmm. We hit Disneyland but did it without bothering with FP - even on rides I didn't go on. Waits were not to terrible. The evening at CA ADV was very crowded as people streamed in for WOC but able to go on rides without any lines - swings & such.
So we headed back to DL just as everyone there was getting ready for the fireworks. WOW! Busy! We just wanted to do the rides as we'd seen the fireworks 3 times already. We were able to hit the Teacups two times back to back! After the fireworks we did more rides, again, without lines??
Okay, crowded, but no lines....I can't figure it out..he he..
The weather was nice, around 70 but it did rain Sunday morning. This didn't stop us as we are use to it from WA State.
Kids said their favorite part was the food/pool (okay, hotel!) and the weather! Kids favorite rides were Soaring over CA, CA Screaming, and Toy Story Mania, Teacups & Autopia. (Overall, we liked CA Adventure more!) Hubby liked Tower of Tower and Soaring. I liked the night shows. All together we liked Innovations & the Silly Symphony Swings.
We road the Disneyland Express bus to/from LAX. Nice ride
I'd definitely go back on a Holiday weekend, again! I'm already thinking of our next trip!!
Alright. Time to rest..sniff sniff..and unpack
