Just back last night from Yacht, BCV and POFQ...

All in all it was a great trip....I survived the heat.....Yes it is
crazy HOT....

1st stop....Yacht Club for 1 night before checking in BCV....
ME bus got stuck at BWV....driver couldnt open handicap door....then
couldn't move bus for half hour.....Wouldn't have been so bad if
DH didn't have to go to the bathroom real bad:rolleyes1 ....

Then at YC....they cancelled my ressie:scared1: :scared1:
Originally I booked one night at BWV....then switched to Yacht
Club....had friends staying there...
After another half hour....they rebooked me a room....But they were very
confused...asking me if I used points...NO I PAID CASH ALREADY:confused:

Anyway......after that minor snafu....room ready at 12:cool1:
Standard room 3131.....awesome view of boardwalk....
Directly above Wedding Gazebo....
View was great....not to impressed with the room....
25 inch TV just sitting on the dresser....Room felt minimilist....
Is that a word:lmao:

Day 2 move on to BCV.....room was ready at 3:15.....
1BR room 473.....OK.....now I understand the LOOOOONG HALLWAY....
Holy Crow.....I felt a little like I was in the "shining" labryinth...
It isn't a hallway where you see the end......it keeps curving....
so you don't know when the end is coming:lmao:
I was happy with my room though.....Double balcony:) My room was just about
dead even with the giant epcot globe......nice view of illuminations....
Room was in very good condition.....Nice new sofa bed...very comfy....
They sent up a brand new frying pan....and more toilet paper....
Very fast....

The pool is a lot of fun.....There hasn't been rain for days before
we arrived.....THE POOL WAS HOT.....not refreshing....
By day 3 we had the afternoon thunderstorms.....Which were good
because they cooled off the pool:goodvibes
Slide was awesome....my DD5 loved it....she went on for the
1st time.....I was surprised she went on....she wouldn't even
go on the baby slide at SSR in May:confused3

I really liked stormalong bay.....but there is a lot of walking around...
I didn't like that I had to keep going over to the slide.....I like it
better when you can stay in the pool and watch them going
on slide.....stormalong bay is very spread out...
Off topic...
When I called front desk to find out if the food n fun center at
contemporary is open....I asked Cm about Contemp DVC
rumors.....I definately caught him offguard.....he was quiet and then
stammered....I can't comment:rolleyes1

I was happy with the Beach club....it is awesome just walking
in to world showcase.....

Next stop POFQ....building 7 room 7224. I really like pofq....
No better moderate in the heat....short walk to everything...
Free dining is awesome;)
I love the pofq pool.....there is a shady spot under the dragon
to get out of that sun:cool1:

Food...
SPOODLES...unbelievably awesome.....a delightful surprise...
LE CELLIER....Wow...better than last time....Truly the best strip steak
I ever had...tender like a filet....but with more flavor.
YACHT CLUB GALLEY.....OK...
KONA CAFE....awesome as always..
JIKO....Sorry to say I was dissapointed....didn't think it was worth
2 TS....appetizers were dissapointing....main course was very good though.
OHANA...WOW....so much better than I thought it would be...
BOMA...OK....this place is always unbelievable..
GRAND FLORIDIAN STORYBOOK BKFST...very good....a ton of food..

Conclusion...
I did not see any difference in service or food with
the free dining start.....waiters don't know who has it or not...
Lots of people couldn't get tables though....Gotta love
the DIS....ADR's done long ago:upsidedow

While I loved trying Y&BC....I still love my home of the
Wilderness Lodge the best....DH did also...
I truly thought I would be miserable with the heat this trip....
But WDW is so special...I still did not want to leave....
DH was so impressed with the free dining...He said
next time we'll plan better:lmao: :rotfl2:
Anyway thanks for reading...sorry so long:goodvibes

Any Questions I'll try to answer
Thanks

We are staying at BCVs in July next year with our family.

I see you took the ME and then switched resorts. Can I ask how you did this? We have a room booked at BCV from Sun and check out on Fri. We won't have a car, and was wondering how we might be able to move to a different resort on Friday if we want a longer stay.

Thanks!

Moving is easy. You just call bell services and tell them which resort you're moving to, they'll transfer your bags. The bag transfer can take several hours, so if you'll need anything, bring it with you. Then you head to the parks or to your new resort (hopping around on the busses if need be). After checking in at new resort, call bell services and they'll bring your bags to your room.

It's neat to switch resorts, almost gives the feeling of two vacations in one :goodvibes

Well one easy way is simply take a taxi and to me it is the best choice as you move your luggage with you.

However if you wish you can have Disney move your luggage and then you move yourself by bus to a park then bus to the other resort etc.

However if Disney moves you, you get your luggage ready, they come to the room and get it and tag it and give you the claim tags. Then they take it and put it in storage and deliver it to the next resort sometime "after" 3pm.

Now that is the part we had trouble with. They lost our luggage and we did not get it until very late that night and we had dinner reservations and wanted to change clothes.

So those are your options, taxi with control of your luggage or Disney and hope for the best. And I am sure many have had Disney move theirs with no problems, as we have too. But one problem and suddenly you truly dont want to risk it anymore.

Thanks for the info (both options)!

It would be fun to do something like this. We are getting a 2 bedroom at BCVs in July for us and DH's family, but just don't have the points for the weekend stay. It would be nice to be able to stay awhile longer, especially for those that late night at MK on Friday night in the summer.

I'll see what DH thinks!

I love to do split stays....

I always just take a cab......I usually get lucky with a room ready....
so I want my stuff with me.

Disney will move your luggage....but like previous posters have said
You don't know when your luggage is arriving...

I am a control freak though..... I pick up my luggage and
bring it to the ME bus:confused3
