What a great president and an even better human. Godspeed.

He was here in Canada a few years ago building houses. Was hospitalized at a local hospital and went back to building houses. No fanfare, no whining, putting in a honest day’s labour.

Amazing human being.

In the early 80s I spent some time working with Jack Carter at the Chicago Board of Trade. A very interesting family that has made a positive contribution to society.

He's the first president I actually remember from my childhood, and Habitat for Humanity does wonderful work. It will be a sad loss.

Probably one of the few genuine, caring people. He was probably just too nice of a guy to ever be president. I'm sorry to hear he's in hospice but glad he got to actually make the choice and, wow, what a life.

Sounds like it may not be for too long, he is 98. I know he was not a popular president, but he has accomplished a lot since leaving the White House in 1980.

I'm glad he was able to decide on having Hospice and leaving the world with dignity and with family. I'm a Georgia girl and the Americus/Plains area is one of my favorite places to spend a long weekend. He has lived a long well lived life and I'm sure will be missed by those who love him.

I didn’t like him as president, but his humanitarian works afterward are the stuff of legend. I wish him comfort, peace and an easy passing.

The first President I was aware of as well. A great statesman and a great former President. I hope he is comfortable and surrounded by love and at peace with a life well lived.
