Went out to dinner last night in Seattle. The place was very crowded. Went to Costco today. Not much different than a usual Saturday. Went to a couple of wineries as usual. Still plenty of people. Not too much change.

Governor of Ohio has said there is a good possibility of schools being closed for the rest of the year. We went grocery shopping yesterday but went at 8 am. the stores were not bad. Some missing items but they were stocking as quickly as they could. DD has decided to do a lot of baking while home so we bought baking stuff like I do at Christmas. Stores did announce last night that they will have shortened hours to give them time to stock and properly clean over night.

Ohio bars and restaurants will be closed by 9 tonight. They are allowed to do carry-out/drive through only. Also, he warned that daycares will close just no order yet but it will be coming.

My dgd's school system has pleasantly surprised me.

They emailed today saying lesson plans pre k through 12 will be emailed or can be picked up outside of the school.

And meals on the go for kids will be in affect.

I live on the small island of Roatan off the coast of Honduras. Cruises have been able to dock but not get off the boat for a week now and of course at least 30 days of no boats. Schools have been closed since Friday. No groups of over 50 allowed to meet. Enforcement is 6 months to two years jail. Borders close tonight at midnight, no one can enter by car, boat or air for 7 days except cargo. No cases here but 3 on the mainland. Our neighbors Guatemala and El Salvador already closed their borders days ago. We are in no way prepared with medical services so this is they way they are treating it.

Our governor closed all the schools for the state, starting this Wednesday, then last night my husband started getting calls that most of his state agency is going to be off until April 6! Pretty much including him too. Ugh, I am not used to dealing with my husband at home during the weekdays. lol

Just think of it as a trial run for when you guys are retired!! ;)

All schools have been closed here in KY. Bars and restaurants are delivery and carry out only. My place of employment (propane) has implemented no more than 6 people in one place, 3-6ft apart at all times, and we have locked the front door to walk in customers. Stores are shortening hours to have time to clean and restock.

Grocery shopping on Sat, we thought we would be early at 8AM-store was packed, still plenty of groceries aside from TP, sanitzer, and cleaning products. Meds were thinning out. We purchased just a little extra, hoping that will get us through 2 weeks so that we don't have to go out this coming weekend.

Instead of our normal weekend outings we stayed home, and plan to do so for a long time to come I think.

Everything was pretty normal.. up until today.

Day 1 of isolation: Kids are not at school, and they are already antsy. Wife went to work this morning, and then was sent home to work from home "for the foreseeable future." I normally work from home. Yesterday Mikey-Butt (see my avatar) snapped a nail while running outside, and ended up making our deck look like a crime scene. 1 trip to the emergency vet later (of course it had to happen on a Sunday), and he is not allowed to run outside for a week. Mikey-butt does not approve, and spent the morning bouncing off the walls along with the kids. Wife had a fantastic idea- send the kids outside to pick up the remains of the winter dog poo in the yard. This suggestion did not go over too well. Mikey-butt snuck outside, and came back in bleeding like a stuck pig (this is why he was not to run around outside). After an hour of scrubbing the mudroom, and throwing my dog-blood-covered clothes in the wash at least there is no dog blood splattered all over the house. Kids are now playing video games, wife is taking a nap, as is Mikey-Butt and his brother-dog Roscoe, and I can finally get some work done. I am finding it is not the coronavirus that I should be fearing...

Please send help.

So, as I have written before I work in the tourist hospitality industry. Stuff that would attract tourists are closed and my company had a conference call with the powers that be to determine what to do , don't take anymore reservation etc, and I am non essential so I am freaking out.

Yuma still has it's two casinos open. the only entertainment venue ope...which could be a problems if folks leave LA or Vegas for a fix on the border. If they all stay home, then casino won't be a problem. The biggest problem is the community of Las Algodones in Mexico ...it is 100% dependent on Canadian and American commerce. Without visitors, the poverty will become catastrophic. There should only be two border gates open, San Luis and Algodones, they are isolated from the rest of Mexico, their federal government could send military forces to quell southern entry of the two cities and international travelers have not visited those two areas. Whereas Mexicali has a high volume of California residents in contact with international visiting families because it is an actual metro city. San Luis will probably remain open as it meets the commerce travel standards....buses full of produce harvest workers entry US to harvest the world's salad bowl. Keep an eye on California's Salinas valley, after the strawberry harvest, the began producing veggies....but for now, Yuma fields are full of ripe produce. ....and Yuma has been doing fine....a improvised isolated community....in the middle of nowhere US...imagine the jabba the hut barge scene in return of the jedi.
