iPhone 4

I will definitely be getting one :thumbsup2

I love the FaceTalk (or whatever it's called), multitasking, HD video, the new camera...it just looks all around awesome!

Looks just lovely, will be picking one up later this month, just glad I resisted the upgrade from 3g to 3gs :)

:goodvibes

I am SO glad I never went from 3G to 3GS... to me it was always a half-step upgrade, not enough different to justify an upgrade.

Now the Iphone 4.... :woohoo: my only disappointment is that I have to wait until June 24th!

I have a question.

I am currently on a family plan on Verizon but I want to switch to ATT for the new iPhone. I will be hopping onto my Dad's ATT family plan.

Now, when it goes in pre-sale on the 15th and I order it online at Apple.com, does that just reserve me one at the closest Apple Store? Will one be shipped to me? Will I need personal information from my father in order to order one so I can be on his plan or can I just order it no strings attached and take it anywhere to get it activated?

I am upset that FaceTalk is only between two iPhones, but I am sure Skype will develop a video chat app

Gibson, Facetalk uses SIP w/RTP which means that you will be able to use Gateways to get to Skype and be able to use it for other SIP to SIP calls. This means it will work with most any SIP capable VoIP Phone system or SIP phone

I'm actually more excited about the upcoming iPod refresh in September taking on some of the features of the new iPhone 4.

I am SO EXCITED!

Okay, I will admit, every time a new iPhone comes out it's like Christmas for me b/c I sell them at AT&T. And every one I sell puts $$ in my Disney fund. So, COME ON June 24th! It can't get here soon enough.

Oh, and I am an Apple nerd, so the first preorder to come out of our store will be for me (and DH, but I'll make him go 2nd :rotfl:)

Apple is a little tricky, they will not let you add a line to an existing account with an online order. I am not sure if this will be different with the preorder, but it is the current system. Best idea would be to preorder from a retail store (either AT&T or Apple) since you will have to transfer your # from Verizon to AT&T in store anyway.

Do you know of any details for the iPod refresh? Will there be any changes to the iPod Classic, because that is the one I am considering replacing my rapidly aging 1st gen. Touch with?

More rumors and ramptant speculation than anything else but it wouldn't surprise me if the Touch started to take on design elements of the new iPhone (and a camera with HD video and the ability to use iMovie wouldn't be too bad either)

Actually I spoke with an Apple specialist this evening and she informed me that I indeed CAN pre-order online on the 15th while adding an additional line to an existing account. The phone will come activated and everything. I can even keep the same number I have now. She was very helpful.

I'm pretty excited about this, I just have to wait until December until my contract is up so I can get it for cheap.

Also, I gotta say, I watched Steve Jobs present this, and he had a pretty interesting experience with the 3G, or should I say Wi-Fi.

If your current contract is AT&T, they said yesterday that they will allow anyone who has a contract that will expire in 2010, to upgrade for the reduced price, as long as you re-up for your 2 years.

Video chat over wifi is pointless. Hopefully ATT will be able to support it via 3G soon.

If you jailbreak your phone. There is a cydia app called 3g unrestricted. It tricks your phone to think it's on wifi.

I had an iPhone for 2 years. Couldn't stand the fact that AT&T still only had Edge in some areas that I frequent, even after they promised almost 2 years ago they would have 3G "soon" so I dumped AT&T last month and went with Verizon. Got the HTC Incredible (Android) phone and it is just amazing.

So, if you are currently on Verizon, go take a look at the Android phones at Verizon. I wasn't unhappy with the iPhone (just the crappy service) but I am definitely happier with the Incredible!
