Insert Image not working

I followed the instructions exactly, but it still isn't working as a signature. I'll try it here and see if it works.
Take out all the quote marks, Fits.

I am using Firefox, I see all the images.

What Dan said...I put the quotation marks so you can see the underlying code and could see exactly what you need to type to get the picture to display (so it wouldn't just revert to the image in my instructional post).

You're almost there, you're so close!
I KNOW you can do it:thumbsup2 ! If I can, *anyone* can!

agnes!

Fits, I am going to ONLY take out the quote marks.

Opps, one more thing, you are missing the forward slash / in the last img, should look like this [/img]

I've been on these boards for years......my popup blocker is/has always been turned off for this website. So there's got to be something else going on. :confused3
I just tried to post again and my pic shows up as a little red "x".

I right-clicked on your graphic, and noticed that you have two http:// -- when you click on the image insert, the field already has http:// - You need to delete that, or select the whole field so that instead of

http://http//www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid182/p090c2c99fd06bac0567138594b1078e9/f2cad48c.jpg

You put

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid182/p090c2c99fd06bac0567138594b1078e9/f2cad48c.jpg

and you will get the following image:

And I did use the picture insert tool. Had to make sure it works

Thanks MaryJo. I did figure that out. I had the two http's because there is a totally different box that pops up now when I click on the image icon & it adds the extra "http". Never used to do this just 3 days ago.
Believe me.....I've been doing this for years. I did catch the problem myself yesterday and now I just delete the extra http. I feel like I'm just talking in vain here though (no disrespect). Noone is acknowledging that there is something different about the image icon ? It's a "VBullentin" IE box ?

It's frustrating to not be able to show you what I mean. If I were a newbie here on the DIS, then I could see you not believing me perhaps. But I've been a registered DIS'er since 2001. I've used the image icon HUNDREDS of times. So if you can find it in your heart to believe me (I know u all must think I'm just ranting here ;) ), there IS some sort of different format for the image icon in the last 36 hours.

I do appreciate your help Mary Jo. I'm just going to let it go now because I'm going crazy  trying to explain this to u and the tech mods. I can't find the right wording. Thanks again :)

Exit your browser and do a search for the disboards.com cookie. When located, delete it. Go back to browser and delete temp files. See if that helps.

Thanks Dan, it didn't help but now I see it's a Dis problem. Ok, all of a sudden it seems to be working:banana:

now if they could only get the clock to work:rolleyes1

No - I know what you're talking about. I always type in , and never use the insert image tool. So, yesterday I did, and noticed that it is really different than it used to be. We used to get a long rectangle with a field in yellow, I think to paste in the url addresses, and for links we'd get the same box, put in the url, and then another window would pop up & we would put in the words we wanted to show in our post.

It's different now. For the image we get this squarish type box, and for the url link we have to put in the text in the actual post.

I noticed that the box does say VB on it, too.

I think I get where you're coming from. I don't know the why's, though.

THANK YOU MaryJo ! :worship:
You do see where I was coming from ! I knew it wasn't in my head ! :upsidedow

Ok - I don't know this is related or not.. but a BUNCH of graphics werne't working for me in Firefox.

In fact, almost none of the posted pictures in this thread were working.

But.. I found a selection INSIDE the settings for Firefox.

[x] LOAD IMAGES (should be checked) ...

But..

[ ] FOR the ORIGINATING WEBSITE ONLY had to be turned off...

I'm guessing I received a Firefox update recently that turned this feature 'on' and therefore all these graphics weren't showing up.

GIOny,
Yes, now that I've adjusted to the new format. When I click on the image icon, a box pops up. I just have to get rid of the extra "http" and it works fine. Initially, I wasn't getting rid of the extra "http" because I never had to do that before. Hope everything is working for you now.

Good, I'm glad you've got that worked out. Yes, mine is also working now, thanks for asking:wave2:
