But would the purchaser be buying in US or CAD? Sorry, very new at this whole idea. Is there a "course" or anything needed to legally sell Disney?Finding a host agency would be beneficial, you can still work remotely from home in most cases.
Booking Disney with Disney directly -commission is in USD. But Air Canada Vacations, Westjet etc would pay in CAD.
In Canada, I'm pretty sure you need to be associated with a host "brick & mortar" agency. I did that and worked from home, they provided all the training. The agency was an Authorized Disney agency, which was great. The purchaser could buy in USD or CAD depending on the supplier. I'm not sure if I can mention the agency I worked with here, but if you want to send me a message & chat I wouldn't mind.
Becoming a travel agent selling Disney was a huge life dream of mine, and I'd love to help someone else achieve it too!

Yeah we all come on the DIS Boards and gather tons of information right here.I use to be a travel agent and was a Disney specialist back in the day. Once you are with a agency registered to sell Disney products, the Disney booking portal for agents has many courses you can take regarding the various Disney products and become a Disney graduate. You had to be a travel agent though, it wasn't available to just anyone to take the courses. Good luck!
This is great news Hon, congratulations.I am actually in the process of becoming a part time travel agent. Not just Disney, for all kinds of travel.
First if you are in Ontario you must complete training with TICO and pass a test. You must also find a host agency to work with. There are many out there. You will pay a fee to join, some upfront, some monthly, everyone is different. You will also pay them a cut of any commission you earn. So you don’t end up earning a lot per trip booked. You also don’t get paid until after the person has travelled. So you have to be prepared to spend some of your own money and not earn anything for a while.
There is also a lot of training to do. Both with being a travel agent and the different products you sell. Even if you know a lot about Disney you will have a lot of training to do.
If you have other questions feel free to send me a message

If you are going to be working for an agency where you need to get your own clients, be ready to hustle, hustle, hustle. You need to be a fabulous salesperson to sell the product and to sell yourself, and be ready for people wanting to know what you are going to throw in for them. It was (maybe it is different now), a hard way to make a living if you have bills to pay, if it is your only source of income, and you are commissioned based, and a percentage of that commission is going to the agency, plus your fees to sign up with them, the training, etc. You will definitely need to sell a heck of a lot of higher end Disney products. If you are going to sign up with an agency as a consultant, try and speak to other consultants at that location to get a feel for how the agency is run, how supportive are the owners, do they provide leads, who will look after your clients if you are in an emergency or away. Good luck! If this is your dream I hope it works out!

I think diversifying at first by including all kinds of travel is the best way to start.
Best wishes
