Imagine Key Blockout dates for 2024

For the Imagine Key 2023 holiday, availability is 16 days. Holiday dates run from 11/01/2023 to 01/07/2024
They have cut out June 2024 (completely compared to 2023)-July 2024
So the pass is a 9 month pass for 2024. December, June and July are completely blocked out.
Probably my final straw to upgrade during renewal window.

Enchant only allows 4 days in June. Otherwise, it also has both June and July blocked. If you want June open, you'll have to upgrade to Believe.

Good. That pass is way too cheap to allow summer or holiday time access.

Honestly, it's only $450. If you go 5 times a year, you break-even. You can't expect access during the best times when you are paying so little.
Amen sister. Wish they would just go away completely. Gone are the days when the parks needed to be filled.

That's...harsh. The disdain is unexpected.

Maybe it is harsh, but it's the truth.

These passes are dirt cheap. If you want better access and more unblocked dates, pay up.

A one day Park Hopper is $250. Why should an annual pass that costs less than 2x that allow for access during desirable times of year? They are lucky to even get as many dates as they do. It's an exceptionally generous pass for the price.

While it makes sense, it's also funny because the parks aren't that busy. It's a strange time to do this when all I see this doing is having less people in the parks

Disney needs to find ways to get people back in the parks, every minute a person is in the parks they might spend money and keeping people out when your not replacing them with paying customers is just to me strange.

The parks are busy. What are you talking about?

All of the passes are dirt cheap compared to paying the one-day park hopper rate. Isn't the highest pass only $1,600 or $1,700? For that you only have to go 7 times to break even. As an out-of-state visitor who used to pay full price before getting the Enchant key, these passes are a screaming deal regardless of the blackout dates.

That makes sense, but according to Disney's last financial quarter, DL revenues were the same and slighter higher than last year. Theme parks and hotels bring in the money. If they can have the same or higher revenue with less people attending that means less cashiers and food workers - less operating expenses. Yes Disney needs the Key people but it wants the revenue. The parks are busy. I was there for 8 days from August 9 through the 16th....it was not packed but there were people at the parks. Not as crowded as in the past in August but the place was not packed but not empty.

The passes are cheap and CA residents can pay monthly!! DISNEYLAND provides many offers and options where the Key passes are concerned. On top of that the special ticket promotions geared toward So Cal and CA residents, Disneyland does a good job reaching out to its base. Blackout dates are part of the equation. People need to get a Key that works for them. You cannot expact Disneyland to give Prime day and season access to everyone. Disney gives it to those who want to pay for it.

The parks are PERFECT on the weekends…just like in the good old days before it became overrun with locals, drop ins, and stopped being a destination and became a place to just hang out.

Even as a Believe key holder, I pay for weekends just to have a more pleasant and relaxed visit.

Exactly. Disneyland still makes money on the weekends. I do not see Disneyland lowering prices or making Saturday or Sunday a lower tier price day. If you want access on the weekends, get the appropriate key and pay for it just like the Key holders who have weekend access and the out-of-town visitors who stay on site and off site do.

It can be true. It doesn't stop the comments from being harsh and down look-y on who those are probably locals that don't have as much money as those that can afford a higher end pass.

Agreed. Growing up, we used to always get the deluxe annual pass as out-of-staters because it worked out to be cheaper for the 2 visits per year. It worked really well for us, on top of the 10% discount. The passes are a great deal comparatively, but the blockout dates no longer work for us even at the highest tier.

What they need to do is take away Magic Keys altogether. Disney doesn't NEED that revenue, it could survive off the visitors spending $6,000-$10,000 each vacation on hotel + tickets + food alone. All of the MK are dirt cheap compared to what you get, so to make it sound like Inspire is so much better than Imagine is laughable when it's only $1,100 more for the entire YEAR. For $1,500, you can go an UNLIMITED amount of times.

No they can't survive. They learned that really quickly after they reopened from the covid closures. Do you not remember how slow that summer was and how quickly they rushed the Magic Key program to resume?

The vast majority of Disneyland visitors are NOT vacationers dropping $10k.

The average local family of 4 with Inspire Keys is dropping at least that much if not FAR more per year. Just the passes alone is $6500.

Is Believe worth the steep $400 hike in price over Enchant though? The benefits don't really improve much other than free Photopass, and it seems like the 2024 Believe Calendar has a disproportionate amount of added blackouts compared to 2023.

I'd never go Imagine because the blackout calendar is just too unworkable, but I don't like going during the busiest days (I.e Weekends, Holidays, Summer), so Enchant would be very serviceable for me if I could get it. I don't feel like I'd get enough out of Believe to justify the cost over Enchant though.

Of course, if there isn't another key sale before the year is over, I'm probably going to just drop the money on an Inspire key so I can binge out for a year and downgrade later, so it might be moot. I'm not going to wait any longer than that to get a key, and I doubt Inspire will be sold out by then.

It depends how many times you will use it. If I try to book a 5 day park hopper, it costs $475. Will you go to the park five of the blockout dates in the year that you have the pass? Or will you choose non blockout dates and go then instead?
