Il Mulino - Worth It?

I almost never go out for pasta because I think it's a huge ripoff, but but my family loves it. How is Il Mulino? Looking at it for an arrival night dinner after a very long day of travel & park. Want to eat somewhere near Swan/Dolphin so we can just shuffle back to the room after. My main goal is to ensure we have a place to sit and have a quality dinner that first night.

@CBMom01 if you listen to the DIS Podcast or the dining reviews you'll hear Pete rave about it. We've not eaten there but from all the reviews and comments from those that have been there it's one of the best on property and some would say it's THE best on property. You can probably find those reviews on their Youtube pages. COVID-19 has changed a lot of things so take that into account for any reviews precovid. You might also ask over in the S/D group thread too, I know a few regulars have eaten at Il Mulino in the recent past and left comments there.

If your main goal is to have a quality dinner, Il Mulino is up to the challenge.

I agree, pasta can be a ripoff, but that doesn't mean that 4-members of a family having four-different plates of pasta is a ripoff - because no home cook should have to make that variety at one meal.

Also, Il Mulino offers half-portions (which can be a bigger ripoff) and larger 'family' portions to be split (which can save money).

Oddly enough, the current menu at BlueZoo has more pasta than previous seafood-centric menus, and the 'nudi' was superior.

Definitely my favorite pure itailian restaurant on property. Food is always good for us. Very much a regular place we go to. So I'd say yes, worth it. Though I'm not saying its the greatest restaurant on property or anything 😅. But its always been very good for us.

We're going to Il Mulino for the first time, and I just found out they do half portions. I watched a video and the half portion looks pretty filling. We're planning to get an appetizer so we probably would have leftovers with a full pasta portion. We're going to play Fantasia mini golf after and I don't want to carry leftovers around (or throw it away and waste food).

I also just found out there's an Il Mulino at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City. I live right outside AC so I'm psyched! I'll have no problem taking leftovers home from there!

I always order their half portions of pasta. It's nice they offer the option.

For those who have been to Il Mulino recently, do they still have outdoor seating on the terrace/patio (not just for special events)?

My wife and I definitely like the food. I took her again for her birthday. It can be difficult picking a spot for us because she's a pretty picky eater and I'm more a foodie who is picky in a different way...lol. They have dishes that we can both enjoy. We are local so will be heading back soon.

I don’t each much Italian food on vacation but have eaten at Il Mulino in NYC.
Just lovely and someday I’ll eat at the one at the SwanDolphin.

The pasta is always al dente, the sauces silkily smooth and the antipasti a meal in itself.
I’d go for it.

Just did a 2nd trip to Il Mulino and it was better than the first, tbh. What's so great is it's a big restaurant, plenty of tables/reservations available, and the pricing seems just right. Definitely cheaper than the food and experience you get. Staff has been excellent. Nice boat ride over during an Epcot day.

The Spaghetti Carbonara is my new fav. This will forever be on my go-to list. Granted, could it be in my Top 10??? Possibly. Definitely my Top 15, but it could sneak into my fav top spots at WDW. For reference, WB George, Sanaa and Homecomin' are my Top 3 currently, for about a year + now, these 3 just keep delivering.

We enjoyed it. It was a last-minute decision and I got reservation an hour before. I just got a margherita pizza and DH got a half portion of pasta, plus we both had salad. Bread was yummy. The $60 bottle of wine probably doubled our bill.

I don't recall seeing any outdoor dining a couple of weeks ago, if you mean in the enclosed garden area then definitely not.
