Happy to report my SW Performance was approved! I used my professional services as my business (which is completely truthful as I intend to do some work on the side this year), and was given a $5k limit. Now just have to wait for its arrival so I can meet MSR for SUB towards CP. I'm a little concerned that the low credit limit is a clue that I might have trouble getting the personal SW or a second business card in 30 days, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Chase has been approving biz cards with low limits for a few months now so I would not worry about that being any indication of future approval issues. $5k is actually a large limit compared to the $3k and $4k that most people are getting! Congrats on the new card!!

Approved for the Amex BBP! Not the most exciting bonus but it seems like a good card to have. I tried last year and got a pop up. I am happy to have somewhere to park my MRs if I ever dump my high fee cards and very happy to be out of pop up jail for now.

Please invite me to the land of no pop up jail... I want to come with you!!!!! (Currently putting spend on Amex to try for Schwab Plat again in a month or 2, lol)

Friends - I am going to WDW in three weeks. Finally decided to make this trip happen!

We are thinking about booking a legit stretch Limo for our transportation as a bit of a splurge. I think it would really excite my girls and we need something to be excited about on this trip.

Quick Question: Has anybody here used Happy Limo and had a bad experience (or great experience)? Has anybody used another Limo service and had a great experience? From what I read, Happy seems like a solid choice.

I think I'm going with Happy Limo but wouldn't mind a competitive quote and/or additional peace of mind about them.

Just want to say....have a great trip...haven’t used a limo so can’t help with that.

UGH. Called in for the status of the CIU, and it says "In order to obtain your application status, press 0 to speak to a specialist." Whyyyy... this is for DH and he HATES being on the phone. Not even sure I'll be able to get him to call. Any idea what they'll ask, since it's a biz card? Never done a recon for a business account before. Do they request documentation?

ETA: Now, I called again and it went back to the message that it is still being reviewed, and we will be notified in 7-10 days. Either way, it sounds like more verification is needed. :( Just not sure what they'll ask for. This is a business like a lot of us here have

Anyone else having problems with Disboards? I open another window to look at other budget board stuff - at first I'm logged in, then it goes - oops - you need to accept cookies. I try to log in but no dice. Meanwhile I'm on same browser with this window and no problems.

Hello, hope someone can give me some advice. Our daughter is stationed in Germany and we are looking at best ways to use our miles to visit her. United flies from Houston to Frankfurt and hubby wants to book business class. I have UR points through Chase. Is it best to book directly through United? We've always paid for transatlantic flights in the past. This will be the first time using UR points. I'm also considering opening a United credit card - they are offering a 70,000 bonus points right now. Any pros/cons to getting this card?

You could each get your own United card!

The United card will give you a free checked bag, and you should be able to see improved award travel availability by linking it to your Mileage Plus number. It looks like the first year AF is $0 on the Explorer card. Booking direct with United may be easier to recoup your miles in case of cancellations. If you book with Chase, they are operating as a travel agent so you don't have direct control over your flight like you would if you booked directly with United. But, it may cost fewer URs to book with United than UA miles, oddly enough.

Last year I had Polaris business class seats on United to Europe booked through Chase and it cost me far less in URs than in UA miles. When the pandemic hit, and flights were being cancelled left and right, I eventually received all my URs back but it would have been more straightforward had I gone with using UA miles. Although I did hear some people had troubles dealing with United too so maybe that's not a great example.

Okay, since no one answered my post from about an hour ago, and I'm impatient, I made my DH call while I was next to him. Basically it sounded like an identity verification, they asked NO questions about the business, and the CIU was approved, YIPPEE! The CL is only $3,000, which I half expected due to other's recent experience.

So now, my question is, can a CIP CL be lowered under $5K? It's currently at $5K, and I'd like to move about 3K from the CIP to the CIU to accommodate the $6K charge we need to make. I know $5K used to be the minimum CL they'd approve for, but not sure if it can be lowered after that.

Uff! So when my dad died last summer, my stepmom was left to deal with daily bills, finances etc. She knows NOTHING of how to manage money or even balance a checkbook. She has no online access, refuses to get it etc. They had 3 open cards, Disney, Citi and LL Bean. Disney she uses for everything, Citi had a couple of small things billed to it monthly, and LL Bean, which is rarely used for discounts. I told her to just leave the Citi card alone and keep it the way it is, as it had a $25k limit and was opened in 1993. Several years ago, my dad added dh and I as auth users because he wanted to give us his Drivers Edge rewards of a few thousand dollars. Well she just called me, and said she closed that account, she wanted everything on one card. OUCH! Can't wait to see what that does to our credit scores (and hers, but she won't care).
We need a new MSR, I might want to get that figured out ASAP before the closed car hits credit. Wonder how long it will take to recover?

I did that when DH got a $3k line on his CIU. I moved it over from his $6k CIP.

Does United charge for bags for international flights? Would I transfer my UR points to United? Looks like a 1:1 transfer. There are business class seats available for 60,000 points one way. Will probably fly back using premium economy to save on points for future trips.

Congrats party: And you can move CL from your old card to the new CIU..
