I got the not eligible and we are also ordering a lot from amazon.Same here. We’ve been ordering tons off Amazon lately
Has anyone gone ahead and switched their steaming service charges to an AmEx card that has the newly-announced credit?
The credit is not showing up on the AmEx benefit site, and I'm wondering if it will be a hassle to get the credit. (Also, I realize that some of the new credits start in May and some in June--I think the streaming service is May but someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
Maybe they wanna give it to people who won’t use it and aren’t shopping there as much? I really don’t knowI got the not eligible and we are also ordering a lot from amazon.

Maybe? I do have an offer through Amex for 5 x points up to 2,000 points on my everyday card so I have been using that recently on there anyways.Maybe they wanna give it to people who won’t use it and aren’t shopping there as much? I really don’t know
We’re pretty heavy Amazon users and we were eligible for the 40% offer yesterday... however, it’s the first time I’d ever even heard of this deal (only had the Plat since Nov) so maybe it was because we haven’t ever used an offer like this in the past? IdkMaybe they wanna give it to people who won’t use it and aren’t shopping there as much? I really don’t know
We’ve been using my CSR for pretty much all of our purchases but if we had the Amex deal we would buy an Amazon gift card with the CSR and then use that to payMaybe? When I try to check our eligibility for that deal it brings up a blank page. We’re pretty heavy Amazon users and we were eligible for the 40% offer yesterday... however, it’s the first time I’d ever even heard of this deal (only had the Plat since Nov) so maybe it was because we haven’t ever used an offer like this in the past? It's definitely not getting annoying. What a nice way to wake up!I promise I won’t be posting as many pictures because I’m sure it’s getting annoying, but this is what I get to wake up to every morning now. Dh sticks him down in front of me and then wakes me up
Now that we got the nursing thing figured out, he’s way more calm. I don’t think we got to see his true personality beforeIt's definitely not getting annoying. What a nice way to wake up!

About a month ago I applied for the Amex co-branded Schwab Platinum, even though I already have the regular Platinum. As has been noted here before, it is exactly the same as the regular in perks and fees, but you can also cash out points into your Schwab account at $0.0125. SUB of 60k points for $5k MSR in 3 months, which I think Amex is extending because of the quarantine. But we had a big charge in April that covered more than 60% of the MSR which made making the spend a lot easier. I hit the required spend yesterday and the points showed up in my Amex account today. At 1.25c per point that’s $750 which is more than the annual fee by itself. And I had a lot of regular MRs I can cash out now too.
Plus I’m getting double Uber credits and now this streaming/phone credit. Also 2x airline credit and everything else, though that's not worth much right now. When it’s time for my regular Platinum annual fee to hit, I think I’ll drop it and keep the Schwab one. It doesn’t make sense to carry 2 long term, but it’s a very nice play short term.
Other weird thing is the new account has not shown up either in Experian or TransUnion and it has been 30 days. I wondered if maybe Amex is reporting both Platinums as a single combined account, but the current balance on the reporting agencies only reflects the regular Plat amount. But I’ve also never seen it take that long for a new account to hit the reports.
Got it. In 2018 I went a little Amex crazy with all their new Hilton/Bonvoy/Gold card offerings and I didn't notice that, but I probably just didn't check so carefully. Thx.It usually takes new Amex personal cards 45-60 days before they hit your report as a new credit card. That is why there is a window to get a new chase card once you officially reach 5/24. (I.e. you can get 5th personal Amex and then apply for Chase...they won’t see you have the 5th card yet).
I’m surprised the hospital has visitors. Where I work none are allowed and there are no outpatient appointments at the actual hospital. It makes me extremely nervous going to the pediatrician even. All I can do is hope we didn’t get sick
Just wanted to point out that the return on a new card with a sign up bonus will be far higher than 6%. Sometimes it’s ok to defer spend to a new card to meet MSR. I think you said you usually make $400-500 per year on that card (I may be off, I didn’t go back and find your original post). The CSP has a SUB of 60k URs, which can be cashed out for $600 or transferred to partners (airlines, hotels) for potentially much more, or used to book $750 in travel through Chase’s travel portal. A SUB is generally earned in 3 months, so you can have $600 in 3 months vs $500 per year. I currently have 230,000 URs and am working on a SUB for 80k more. So yes, I am deferring grocery spend to that card right now.Buying supplies for a new deck, paying for summer camp (if it happens!), and Christmas shopping play into my timeline since I don't want to lose my maxed out Amex grocery cash back and that's our biggest, most reliable credit card expense every month.
Yeah, stop it, annoying, no more!I promise I won’t be posting as many pictures because I’m sure it’s getting annoying, but this is what I get to wake up to every morning now. Dh sticks him down in front of me and then wakes me up

The lady next to me at the elevator was definitely not a visitor. The lactation consultant said she heard her talking to the front desk about how she just came from another hospital that was a psych ward. They told her to leave and somehow she ended up back by the elevators trying to get her stimulus money out of an atm. We have a carrier but I guess he’s too small for it even though it said it could be used from birth. When we take him to the hospital and pediatrician we carry him in instead of taking in his car seatI’m surprised the hospital has visitors. Where I work none are allowed and there are no outpatient appointments at the actual hospital.
Can you get one of those light covers for his carrier? And honestly just be strong and tell people to back off. Politely of course. Your kid, your rules.
The first time I took DS to meet people at work, I had him strapped to me in a carrier (he was over a year old). I didn’t take him out at all as I stood talking to people. Finally, the director of my department said “Are you going to take him out of there so we can hold him?” I nicely said no, it might freak him out, he’s staying put. She wasn’t happy but she didn’t fire me.
