I just got an email that Plastiq has deposited my $2000 FFDs from last month's promo. I logged into my account...and it says $0 FFD right now. Gah!
I just got the email too on my account and my wife's account - no FFDs deposited yet. The Rewards screen appears a little blank though so maybe it's just updating :D I wouldn't fret since multiple people seem to see this issue.

Also - Interesting to note that I received the $2,000 FFDs email despite the fact that my payment processed last month was using FFDs (I did not pay the fee). So hmmm I'm wondering if I'm going to get them anyways even though the fine print said I wouldn't. That would be sweet :D

Definitely go with the itinerary first. We do that. It just happens that Disney has the Norway/Iceland/Scotland itinerary that we love, and not many others do what we want (although they all go to those places, so there will plenty of cruise lines to choose from). Totally not pushing Disney here, especially since you can't pay with URs. But the itinerary and the ports and ports times matter with these cruises since (to me anyway) the whole point is to see new places. Certain itineraries are almost perfect copies even when you look from one cruise line to another, and some just aren't.

Also, with Europe, check the ports to see if they are close to the place you want to see. Meaning that Le Harve is far too far from Paris (IMHO), while in Norway (and I think some places in the Med) you can just walk off the ship and you're in the center of town. That way you're not wasting 1-3 hours just getting to the place you want to see.
We definitely are wanting one we can use URs on. I’m really just interested in the scenery in Norway and Scotland. There isn’t anything I particularly want to see. They both just look like beautiful places to visit.

I agree that I wouldn’t want to be driving a long distance after getting off the ship

so.... quick rundown- Royal Carribean.... best ways to save if booking? I can't seem to find some of my bookmarls at the moment... I see a cruise I'm interested in for 2020, and guessing there'll likely be sales popping up

I get that - it would make for a really reasonable trip. We have flights and hotels (pre/post) covered with points, but still have to pay Disney for the cruise. Since you're at WDW all the time, I would think that it's something you do without when you take cruises.

The fjords in Norway are really pretty. And Scotland, ah we had a great tour in Inverness last year. It was all just amazing! I hope you find something that works for you.

With my newest card approval, I have.... $22k in MSR going right now :faint:

Granted $2k of that is my Gold and I'm maybe $200 from completing that
Ack! We did that at the end of last year and it stressed me out even though we had the spend to cover it all planned out. At least you're about done on your Gold card. I find MSRs harder to meet now because the 4x groceries on the Gold card make it really hard for me to use another card at the grocery store. ;)

Thoughts on the Amex Blue Business Cash card? $250 stmt credit after $5k MSR in 6 month, another $250 stmt credit after spending adt'l $10k in first 12 months, plus 2% back, no AF. Not sure I'd meet the total $15k, but $5k in 6 months for $350 (incl 2%) doesn't seem bad. There are other more lucrative personal cards but not sure I'm ready to add to my 5/24 (currently 3/24). Is this offer difficult to pull? Also, I read on DoC there shouldn't be support links, but didn't see any on dischurners. Am I blind or did I read wrong? TIA!

Paying cash (not points)? I like Cruise Compete. You put in the cruise you want and then different TAs will offer quotes. You can then decide which one(s) to contact. I've always been able to find a TA that offers at least 10% off. The Royal Caribbean cruise we booked was even more than that. I suspect it was a group rate. It's even fully refundable, which is rather hard to find with RCCL unless you're paying quite a bit more. Be careful about that because I find it tricky and not obvious when you're getting the nonrefundable deposit rate.

Idk anything about that card but as far as support links go you can click on any Amex non co-brand card link and then click on "view all cards with a 'support' offer" and you'll see if they have a link for the card you want. The person will still get the support points and you'll get the offer. I randomly clicked someone's link and followed it through to all support offers and saw the same offer you were talking about.

Hi everyone. I have been so busy with wedding planning lately. Disney has altered my plans and one of my dessert parties got canceled. I had to move a bunch of stuff around, but things have worked out. I then was busy making fastpass plans for 30 people. Also working on writing our ceremony and making a music list for the DJ. And we are still trying to move. lol Nothing really is happening with churning. I went all of September without a new credit card application.
When is your DFTW? Ours is in January. I didn't know there was another dischurner planning a diswedding!!!! Total bummer about the dessert party. I'm already a little bummed that I'm not going to get my epcot park shoot in Canada because there's a wedding in Canada the morning of my park shoot. Crazy to spend so much money and not get what you want.

My 30% cash back on technology providers was about to expire, and NewEgg doesn't have VGCs on their site anymore. So I got Gift of College cards, and will put those into DD's 529. And since I put the offer on my Biz Gold, I should get 4xMRs for it too. If you haven't used that offer yet, it expires on 10/15/19!

Alaska Airlines people: I did not know Alaska Airlines has a chat feature on their website, has this been there forever? I needed my reservation number, clicked contact us for the heck of it on my desktop hoping chat was an option and it was. They were able to get me what I needed, just like Twitter but faster. Filing this away in my head as another way to contact the airline in case anything goes awry when flying AS...

that stinks. Where are you having your wedding? I had a dessert party planned December 2nd at the grand Floridian for the happily ever after fireworks but that show isn’t happening that day. DFTW didn’t even tell me about this until I called freaking out on my own. The planning has been a mess.

I've got plans too so now I'm just stressing juggling it... though it will probably be fine, I'm just OCD lol.

Thinking about going for the Amex Platinum. I know I can only get the bonus once. Is it considered pretty high now or should I wait? Other than the SPG cards and a super old delta gold I have no Amex cards so I know nothing. I just have a ton of spend coming up and I want to put it towards something and I don't have any chase options left. I always considered Amex the place to go with large minimum spends. Do you have any other suggestions on where to go with large minimum spends? I have AA but fiancé doesn't. He has a CSR and a CIP but has some chase availability... unlike me... We've got a wedding to pay for, some end of year medical bills... and a contractor to pay for our dumb retaining wall that is falling down. Oh wise churners... send me in the right direction lol I'm about 1000 pages behind lol or at least it feels that way! Also tell me if I should be using a support link.

If you are under 5/24 I highly advise you read up on an option detailed HERE

If you haven’t been around awhile you might not be aware that this was an option. Please keep discussion on this to the reddit thread or in a PM.

IF that ultimately isn’t the right answer perhaps you might want to come back to the main thread for more advice.

I have it and 7% on the first $5k is good enough for me but I have a lot of spend right now (quarterly taxes added $21k/year to my credit card spending) so I’m not super picky. This was my 8th card in 2019 and 6th business card this year.

Are you comfortable with the business cards? There's info on the 100K/$10K MR Biz Plat in DISchurners advanced strategies. The 100K MR on the personal Plat is highly targeted (I've read people find it on CardMatch sometimes, and once in a blue moon receive a mailer for it), but you may be able to find a 75K MR SUB using someone's support link in incognito mode (I did this for P2, I got the 20K support and he got the 75K SUB so it was close to 100K altogether). Also, do you know if all the merchants you're planning on paying take Amex?

Follow up here... Somebody on Reddit chatted with Plastiq because the FFDs they had BEFORE this promo were missing. It’s a known glitch so I’d just give it a day or 2 and hopefully it will resolve itself :D
