Hogwarts Express

What have the lines been like typically for the Hogwarts express??? Also how ofton does the train travel back and forth??? Also is it a one way trip? So if you wanted to ride it from one park to the next and then back would you need to get off and exit then get back through the line to get back on? Also any tips for riding??? Anything to look for that most people miss? How many people fit in each seating area??? Thanks!

You have to exit at each end. The train travels back and forth every five minutes or so. Each compartment easily sits 8.

In our experience in November, lines from DA to Hogsmeade were relatively short. But going from Hogsmeade to DA it was much longer. You will want to ride it in both directions because it's different going both ways. As PP mentions, you do need to exit and walk back through the queue if you want to immediately re-ride it back in the other direction. 8 people can and will be seated in your car - we were a party of two and they filled up our car each time. I'd say ride early if you can to avoid the wait times later.

About a five to ten minute wait today both times we used it. first time around 10 am and then again around 2. Morning was quicker. But, I think overall, the crowds were light today.
