Hi Fort Wilderness folks - we aren't going down again until the fall (just got back less than two months ago and already wish we were there again, though!) but wanted to bring this question up so we are prepared. (
We have a number of extended family members who live nearby - we always go to visit them whenever we are staying in at The Fort. That being said, some of them have expressed interest in coming to visit us at our cabin the past few times we have been down there - what would be the best way to go about doing this?
FWIW, we wouldn't be going to the pool or anything like that, just hanging out, maybe taking the one child involved to see the ponies, maybe we cook out at our cabin, etc. (We are talking approx. 5-8 people, all but one are adults, and there may be up to three cars involved (though we might be able to get them to consolidate down to one or two depending on the visit.)
A few of these relatives are older so for mobility's sake it would be best if we could just have them park at our cabin...the last time we were down there the people next to us had two cars and a golf cart parked at their place for the duration of our visit (and they checked in/out before/after us as well) so I wonder if it would be ok for us to have two cars there for a few hours one day...we would be happy to move our vehicle to overflow during that time, if that makes sense.
Could they just drive up and tell the people at the gate they are there to visit us for a bit?
Just trying to figure out if there is a good way to do this with minimal stress.
Thanks folks!
(Also I mentioned we will be down there in the fall but given that we will be there over Halloween we would probably hold off on inviting family over until our next trip in the spring!)
