Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Glow in the dark paint stars would look really cool on a blue band. I really like how the tattoo ones look. You get so much more detail that way. I think the Wall-e one will be great!

I'm doing some for my young nephews and now that I have done the glow paint I need to figure out how to use in on their bands too. One of them is going to be Pascal from Tangled and the other one wants super heros of some sort.

You could do Pascal hanging from the floating lanterns and then make the lanterns glow in the dark... And the super hero.... Iron man and make his eyes and the circle on his chest glow.... Or Thor in his home of Azguard and make the stars glow and his hammer would look cool glowing too.

Only 3 days to go for us...finally got the bands decorated. First time posting pics from my iPad, so let's see if I can figure it out :)

zipnover: May I ask if the glued on pieces stayed on ok? Like the shells on the Ariel MB and the POTC pieces? What did you use to glue them on? Thanks, hope you had a great time last week!!! :thumbsup2

We are looking to do up some of our bands.
What is everyone using to apply the nail polish; the brush in the polish, a paint brush, nail polish pens rather than bottled polish, dotting tools?

How are some of you getting the Mickey head and the groove around it so cleanly outlined?
Seems like it would be hard to get the head with a clean line, let alone the groove being done in a separate color as well.

We used the default brush that came with each polish.

The Mickey outline wasn't overly hard per se, but I personally had to use a lot of acetone to clean up the overflow (black polish takes a bit to dilute on a yellow band).

I used regular paint brushes in nail polish and nail pens for my first round of bands. The most recent ones I did I used acrylic paint with a layer of nail base/top coat over it.

Here are my magic bands. my dad and I are staying at POP and we wanted a 60's theme. I painted mine as a flower power band. It started as yellow. I painted my dad's as a peace symbol/tie dye theme. It started as orange. I had a lot of fun doing this. Thanks for the inspiration!

OH MY GOODNESS! I absolutely ADORE your peace sign band! How on earth did you accomplish that tie-dyed look?! :worship: It's PERFECT! I have a feeling my daughter is going to see yours and want me to do the same thing for her! :thumbsup2

It was not that hard. I watched a YouTube video on how to paint tie dye nail art. Then I just did it on a larger scale. I stamped the circles with a straw to get them round then colored in the lines in with a toothpick. Just used nail polish for everything.

I LOVE the tie dye one!

Has anyone tried craft vinyl. Like designs you would cut from a cricut or silhouette cameo? Was wondering if maybe the permanent outdoor vinyl would work with a clear topcoat? I won't have my bands for awhile not going till May but my mind was already thinking and was hoping someone might have a machine and want to try it.:confused3 Please post if you have done one using this method. Thanks! Love all the bands keep them coming. I am so excited that I found this!!!!

I use my silhouette to cut designs for my nails using vinyl. I put a clear topcoat over them and they last for weeks. I have anchors on my toes right now that have been there for a month and are still in perfect condition despite a trip to the beach, running in tennis shoes, and wearing flip flops pretty much everyday. I actually tripped and broke my toe nail but the decal was unscathed. So, I am thinking the vinyl would work just fine on these as well. I just plan to put a topcoat over it.

For anyone not as talented as cab0ad, they have a similar rainbow tie dyed version of the mini duct tape rolls. We just got our MBs today (YEAHOOO!!!!!) and I held the small rolls up to them and they're almost the exact perfect width :thumbsup2 The pattern on it is similar to this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Duck-1-88-in-x-10-yds-Rainbow-Duct-Tape-281427/203866868

Those are really cute!!! Some of my favorites on this thread!

Just back from a week in WDW. Our bands held up perfectly! They still look like they did on day 1!

I got tons of positive attention about my band and none of us had any trouble at all with using our bands.

The design on my sister and her daughters' bands all dissolved away and are very worn looking. I think the main problem was that she didnt use a base coat and then cover with many more base coats (over the temp tattoos). She used a base coat or two, but I probably put on 7-9 layers!

Beautiful! Any tips for doing the flowers? Is it white first and then the color or reverse?

I plan on using tattoos as well, but I also bought glow-in-the-dark nail polish. Do you put this on before or after the tattoos? Also, do you do a base coat under the glow in the dark, and then several more coats on top? Will it still glow? Just not sure of the order of things here I guess.

I actually did them in 3 layers. Black first for a bit of an outline, white next, and then the colored part. I put the white in the middle to add depth and to make sure the colors would not be hidden by the black beneath. Finally I black dotted the middles. I used a nail dotting tool but you can use a toothpick if you don't have one. Just cut it in the middle of the toothpick to get a flat end for dotting.
