Has anyone booked a Grand Floridian photo session?

This is such a great idea-we'll be due for good family portraits by next June!
If you pre-purchase the photopass, does that mean that you can print all photopass pix PLUS all portraits from the GF sitting?? Are any prints included in the GF sitting without the photopass?? Thanks!!:goodvibes

Ok - I think I understand but I'm a bit slow.

I can prepurchase the photo CD before we go and will get an e-mail with confirmation and a code for when I am ready to get the CD (after the trip). As we go in December I can book in November for a GF session which will be free or may cost $25 and they will take a selection of photos of us all - all together, just kids, just DH & I etc. I can also have photos done at all the parks on to the same photopass account. When I get back I have 30 days from the first photo (so 7 days really because we are away 21 days) to edit them add them all to the CD and arrange for it to be sent?

If this is right it is a brilliant deal and surely will quickly become overbooked - or am I missing something?

Thanks

Sue

Has anyone asked how long you get to spend with the photographer? I wonder how many different settings you can choose. I guess it depends on what time will allow??

I think I read somewhere that it was about 20 minutes.

Sue, you seem to understand perfectly. :) More info from; http://allearsnet.com/news/dd.htm

Grand Floridian Portrait Sessions Offer One-On-One Photo Moments

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- There's a new occasion to "say cheese" at Walt Disney World Resort: during individual portrait sessions now available at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Guests who desire a more one-on-one photo experience during their Walt Disney World vacation can book a shoot at the majestic Victorian-style resort where a Disney PhotoPass photographer escorts the group through some of its most picturesque backdrops. Consultations are available prior to the shoot to discuss wardrobe, session location and theme options.

Guests can create a portrait package that suits their individual needs with two current offers: a single sitting ($49.95), and a package that includes a sitting and a PhotoPass CD with all of the digital images taken by theme park photographers during a guest's vacation ($124.95). For more information or to book a portrait session, visit Disney's PhotoPass desk on the second floor of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or call 407/824-1700.

Pixiemel; you're right! You can print BOTH if you pre-purchage the CD. If you buy it at the GF, you should be able to let them add the parkphoto's, but you can't add borders etc. like you could at home.

If you DON'T want to by the CD, you'll pay $49,95 for just the GF pics.

This form was very helpful! Thanks to everyone for posting. I think I will book a photo session for my next trip. I was going to buy the CD anyway :)

I just called about a potential photo session for my November trip and it seems like they will be making some changes. When I asked if It was included with my preordered photopass CD. She said that it was a new program and that they would be making some changes so she couldn't answer any questions at this time.

She also said that "at this time" they were only taking reservations 30 days in advance, but seemed to think that this might also change. So she advised that that I call back again mid-sept for my November trip.

She was able to answer questions about the length. She said 20-30 minutes and for us (only two people) she said that we could expect 50-60 photos. She also said for lighting they try to do most their photos outdoors weather permitting.

She also said that they were getting a lot of reservation, which makes me think the idea is taking off.

I don't want to be the pessimist, but I think that it may not be included in the photopass CD for long.

I am back and did the session, the photos turned out great!
did not have any problems at all using my reciept they didnt even take the numbers down off my reciept, they just looked at it and said thank you. it is definately worth doing.

I'm so glad to hear that you loved it! Would you mind to post a couple of your pictures so we can see how they turned out? Were yours done indoors or outdoors? Any tips we should know?

This was great and considering it was free (I pre-paid for the PhotoCD) you can't go wrong. Our family of four had TONS of photos taken all over GF, inside and out - even on the beach. They even did individual photos, husband-wife, 2 kids, 1 kid 1 parent, etc.

Photographer said they'd only been doing it a month, and they had been swamped with calls after Disney issued a press release 2 weeks ago.

I agree with the others that this deal is TOO GOOD TO LAST LONG. We would have easily paid for this, however.

Tinkerbell Tiffany: The pictures of you and the family are wonderful. I like how you went with the same color in shirts, adds a lot more to the pic. Your boys are cute.

I'll have to keep this in mind for our trip next year.

I don't think it is exactl 30 days. I called for the 12th of October on the 12th of September (after calling before and being told it was too early) and he said they didn't have the sheet and to call back next week... that would be less than 30 days.(If they even make my ressie then)

I did my session last week, and Karen was lovely. We did shots inside and out and she really tried to think along with me. When I told her I wanted some pics with my wheelchair but also some without (yes, I'm a snobby vain person and don't like the looks of the chair) she really got into it and more or less went like "oh we can do this and this and this and this and this and oh let's go do this and that". I pre purchaged the CD and just finished it online today, so it'll take some days before the pics are here and unfortunately I couldn't copy+paste them from disneyphotopass.com . Just a heads up; I take horrible photographs, I'm so not photogenic it isn't even funny. And although I kept that reputation with this session also, she also got some really nice shots in there which in my case isn't easy.

For those not knowing what they want yet; don't worry! If you come to the desk early enough -or there's nobody booked after you, which was the case for a lot of days during my trip!- you've got all the time in the world to look at photo's they took of other families to get some great ideas. And I must say; the pcis of families that wore the same colourschemes looked so nice!
