Hard Rock Hotel - pool gate question

Are Hard Rock Hotel guests able to enter the pool area even when the pool is closed? Just wondering for early entry into Universal Studios whether we can cut through the pool area to use the walking path even in the morning when the pool isn't open.

If memory serves me correctly, instead of going through the pool area, you have to turn left and walk down a corridor (past the arcade) and that puts you out at the boat dock. You can catch the pathway there.

I was there last week. Could not get into pool area when it was closed. So, if you’re after pool hours, take the path back around the pool. Before, can cut through the butterfly garden to get a small, but good shortcut.

Depending on where our room is, sometimes we take the parking lot short cut. It doesn't have the relaxing garden views but might save a few steps when trying to get to the parks quickly. We go out the front, turn left go down stairs, through parking lot, short sidewalk and you are at the security check point!

Is the outside access pool gate open again. The last couple times we stayed during COVID, the gate was locked and you could not use the short cut. They even had a sign out so on your way back from the parks, you couldn't cut through.

Yes, open during pool hours. We used it every day last week.
