What grocery delivery do y’all use for the Yacht/Beach Club? We will need some basics delivered on our arrival day. Case of water, milk, juice, etc. We’ve never had groceries delivered at a WDW resort. Do you pre-schedule a delivery through a grocery store or just use an Uber delivery type service? Would appreciate recommendations. Thanks.

You can have them drop at Bell Services unless you have alcohol. If you have booze you need to meet them aside from one outfit that I can’t recall but which I’m sure someone will chime in with their name!

I’ve done Amazon, Kroger, Uber Eats, Walmart & DoorDash over the last few years. The only one I tried perishables with was Amazon and my issue was they were out of like half the stuff I ordered- BUT it was Nov 2020 so what grocer wasn’t out of half of what you wanted? After that I’ve stuck to non-perishables and never had an issue. I ended up using Uber Eats and DoorDash when I needed some random stuff like Now that Disney didn’t have. No issues with any delivery being dropped at Bell Services. I make sure the address states the hotel and my name is Guest[First] [Last] and if there is an additional instruction box I say deliver to Bell Services. I usually see a “grocery” or “package” charge of like $6-7 on my hotel folio + always tip the bellman on delivery (because I ain’t lugging water bottles to my room on vacation!).

Thanks for the info! Uber seems to be the easiest route of those listed. I have always had issues getting Amazon deliveries at hotels.

Uber Eats, Doordash and Grubhub usually are used if you want food delivered from a restaurant, not groceries delivered from a grocery store.

People are using Instacart these days to have groceries delivered from Publix grocery store.

People also are using Walmart, but I notice more complaints on here about Walmart than I do about Instacart.

Amazon has changed its grocery delivery service over the past few years. Amazon Now was introduced and then closed. I think the current service is Amazon Fresh.

Uber or Lyft are used if the person wants to travel to the grocery store themselves.

OP, maybe you knew all this but someone else reading this thread might find the above posts a little confusing.

I think there may be more grocery delivery threads on the DVC forums rather than this forum, because the DVC rooms all have kitchenettes or kitchens:

I use Walmart+ and never had an issue. They make substitutions sometimes, like all of these services. They don't substitute for alcohol, so pick something common.

I have been using Instacart for years. They are really good about contacting you if something you ordered cannot be found and suggesting alternatives. When you setup your order you can also add alternatives. They shop at the local Publix and not some warehouse somewhere.

I've been using Publix/Instacart for several years, and they'll drop it off with bell services. You need to be present if there is alcohol.

I have used Garden Grocer and most recently Vacation Grocery Delivery (run by previous CMs I believe) and both of these services will deliver alcohol if that is something you are interested in purchasing. Vacation Grocery Delivery's shopper actually texted me when she was starting the order. When items on my list were out-of-stock, she texted me options and pictures of similar items to choose from which was really nice!! They do the shopping the day before your arrival so that you are not in-transit and can communicate with the shopper more easily.

Neither of these two services are the cheapest route but I appreciate their communication and we always have great service.

Thanks for the info. Incidentally, Uber does do grocery delivery now. There is a tab for it in the Uber app. We use Uber a lot when we travel for both rides and Uber Eats food delivery. Just never ordered groceries before.

I haven’t had great luck with Instacart. Used them a couple times before our local grocery chain started offering delivery directly through the store.

If the store you want is listed you can order with them but usually it’s like convenience store options so go in with a backup like Instacart. If you have a Chase credit card link it to the account before you leave and you might get a free trial upgraded account and credit Info

I have an Instacart account so I could do that as backup.

I found this article about Uber grocery. Looks like it covers many of the large grocery chains. https://thekrazycouponlady.com/tips/money/uber-eats-grocery-delivery?amp=1

Was there in April- Instacart/Publix was terrible (only got half my list, then said it was delivered but it never arrived). Walmart+ was then recommended to me and was perfect (and much cheaper).

All these services come down to the shopper who handles your order. Some go above and beyond with communication while they shop, letting you know when itmes are out and asking what you would like to substitute, and some people are just not cut out to be personal shoppers. It's always a toss up.

I use Instacart because I have a free + membership and a monthly $15 credit through my Chase credit card. I always shop at the same grocery store that I myself shop at, and have had wildly different experiences. I do a shop once a month just for the $15 credit, but otherwise do my own shopping.

I plan to use Instacart via Publix when I'm at BC this summer if I don't feel like driving over myself.
