i was flipping the channel on Friday & saw a group of ladies standing in what appeared to be a snow storm, said they were @ the Grand Canyon's rim & doing a shout out to Ellen...looked very windy & cold.
consider myself lucky to have snagged a view room for 1 night @ Thunderbird Lodge end of June ; site sez it's just a few yards away from the rim & no wall/fence...eek.
2 facts i've discovered sent out to other newbies:
#1 the mule trips can be booked up to 2 years prior to visit & they have a strict weight limit (200 pds...they do weigh you)
#2 while the south rim of canyon will only be in the low 80's during our trip, we were told the bottom is easily 20 - 30 degrees warmer
