We are spending a few days in Disney before cruising on Allure out of Fort Lauderdale on 7-day Western Caribbean in January, and then returning to Disney for a few days after. We are at the Boardwalk so planned to rent a car at the Dolphin and drive to Fort Lauderdale early in the morning on embarkation day. We figure if we leave by 8:30am we should arrive at the port by noon. We have never made this drive before but figure people must do it and googlemaps suggests the Turnpike will get us there in 31/2 hours. Our cruise leaves port at 4:30pm. Does that sound like a reasonable plan? It's a long way off, so we have a bit of flexibility to adjust. Our flights are in and out of MCO.
