Getting to Port Canaveral from Disney Property?

Hi All, first time cruiser with a ton of questions! We are sailing on the Wish for 3-nights in August and staying on Disney property the night before. We plan to sign up for Disney transportation to the port (unless anyone has a better alternative that is more efficient?). What time does the bus usually come in the morning? Will they take our luggage, and are there tags we put on our luggage like the old MDE? What happens if the bus drops you off at the port at 11am and your boarding time isn't until 4pm....what do you do, especially with kids for 5 hours at the port? Or do they time it so your not waiting at the port long at all? Thanks so much in advance for your help!

1. Busses usually come throughout the morning hours and varies for the pickup time. The busses can stop at multiple resorts.
2. Since Covid started, they are not requiring guests who use DCL transfers to set up a Port arrival time. You are able to enter once you arrive. Depending on what Boarding group may have you wait in the terminal for a bit but it won't be hours
3. Not sure about luggage. In the past they used to pick it up from the resort and transport it for you but not sure if that's back or not. You would want to confirm that when you book the transfers if no one else on these boards can confirm.

We booked private transportation with FL Magical Tours and were very happy with the service (if you want to have more control over your timing).

We are going on the Disney Wish in October and are staying at a Disney Resort and using the DCL transfers that will pick us up.
From what we were told on the phone when we arrive we will be given instructions at the Resort about what we need to do the night before this includes that we are up before the bus arrives. The Bus apparently does not hang around if you miss it you miss it. Also we were told to try and pick the earliest Port Arrival time you can and when you get there everything will be sorted out for you to get on board as soon as possible.

It's been a few years and things have changed (especially prices) but last time we cruised out of CC we priced alternatives and found that a one-way rental (each way) was our cheapest option. Picked up car in the morning near WDW and dropped at rental place near port (there's a shuttle). On return, DH took shuttle to get car and by the time I had our luggages, he was back. We may have had coupons or affinity points that tipped the scale.

Pickup from AKL was around 9, two stops on the way. At port around 10:30 or so, BG2 due to being on Disney transport and so on very early, no more than a 30 minute wait in terminal. Each resort is of course different.

I want to say they came and got my bags from the room.

This might be a silly question considering is Disney, but is the bus to and from Port Canaveral and WDW property free or is there a charge?

This seems a silly question considering the Disney era we are in but is the bus transportation between WDW and Port Canaveral free?

Took Disney transfers for our Wish cruise last month. We got a letter with instructions and times in our room the evening before. Bell services came to pick up our bags from our room at 7:00 am. We had to meet in the lobby at 8:45 am for a 9:30 pickup. Our bus was running late and didn’t leave until 9:50 (we were last stop) - we arrived at the port by 11:00 and walked onboard at noon. When checking in with Disney transfers booked you don’t get a port arrival time and are automatically assigned a pretty early boarding group (we were BG4 and were the latest I heard of, most seemed to get 2 or 3).

DCL Transfers to/from Port Canaveral are $39 per guest one way ($78 round-trip). Same price whether you are at a WDW resort or MCO.
