FP and rider switch - booking tomorrow

I’ve read all the threads and sorry for asking again but my FP booking window opens tomorrow and I haven’t ever used rider switch before so wanted to triple check!

We are a party of 4 - me, husband, daughter 9 and son 1. Am I right in saying that If me and daughter had a FP for a ride husband can get rider switch and ride with daughter getting on again within the return window but without having a FP for the ride. Or does he need a FP too?

Sorry - I hadn’t spotted this families forum before. I’ve now managed to answer my own question!
