A small fire broke out late Friday on Royal Caribbean's 5,400-passenger Allure of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship, the Miami Herald is reporting.
The news outlet says the flames, in an engine, were quickly extinguished by the ship's fire suppression system, and no passengers or crew were injured.
Allure of the Seas was sailing from St. Maarten to its home port of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., at the time time of the fire. It's scheduled to return to Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.
The incident comes just weeks after an Azamara Club Cruises ship temporarily lost power in Asia after an engine room fire and two months after an engine room fire disabled Costa Cruises' Costa Allegra.
Unveiled in late 2010, Allure of the Seas shares the title of world's largest ship with a sister vessel, the two-year-old Oasis of the Seas.
