***** February 2022 Thread *****

I was 4 days from leaving for our Disney trip and BAM! my son has covid. So with some spectacular assistance from a reservation specialist, they helped us rebook to President's Day weekend. Still managed to get us into CBR, and then our last night we move to Art of Animation. I can't say enough about Cast Member Rufina. For 90 minutes she checked for rooms, found us a split stay, transferred our tickets, and money and was just the most pleasant person ever. I was almost in tears yesterday when his test came back positive. But now I get to spend my birthday at Disney in February!
This is my fear. I’m glad to hear they worked with you to make it all work out.
How long was your original trip supposed to be vs the new rebooked one?
Thank you and hope your son is better asap.

Same number of days. Original was January 13 - 17. New trip is Feb 17 - 21. The issue with Feb, they couldn't get me all 4 nights at CBR. But given that there was zero availability when I looked, I am not complaining. My son said he is actually excited to go see the Cars sections again. It's been a couple of years. So we are keeping it all positive! The room rate is February is higher so I had to pay the difference.

Actually we are at CBR the same days as you now - we are 2/19-2/25.
That is awesome that they were so flexible. Idk what we would do in that situation bc my husband is a teacher and we are tied to the stupid school vacation weeks. I’m glad for you it worked out and hope your kiddo is better asap. Fingers crossed for everyone else that no covid, including me and my family lol -

Does anyone think they will do the one hour early entry for resort guests on presidents day week like they did over Christmas? Or maybe change the lightning lanes - genie + selection to have only one ILL?
A girl can dream 😜

I'd hoped it was so successful that they'd keep it. I was *wrong*.

Hi there... catching up on this thread (and several others too!). My wife and I will be celebrating our 10th legal wedding anniversary (and 18th "illegal" ceremony, and 27 years since we first got together) at the Boardwalk Inn from Feb 2nd through to the 8th. I'm really looking forward to being in the Epcot area - we did a split stay at POFQ and GF for my birthday in March a couple of years back, but haven't been since then. Our plans are to spend good chunks of two days hanging out in Batuu, and most of the rest of the time at Epcot.

I also got the joy of the Space220 Lounge alerts hitting a few days ago, so we have a lunch reservation there. I also managed to score Homecomin' one night, which has been on my "really really want to do" list for a while. Plus we will be doing California Grill with a 6pm dining reservation and hopefully timing it right so that we can watch the fireworks from up there.

I'm occupying my time until then by adding to the packing list, planning Disneybounds/Batuu bounds for us both, making thank you cards for cast members, and avidly reading every discussion board and Facebook group that I can find! Glad to be part of this group - and I think that there's some other Boardwalk folks here too!

I could be wrong but I don’t think they will transfer your luggage to dolphin for you because it’s not technically a disney resort. No personal experience but that’s what I’ve seen others say here and wouldn’t want it to mess up your plans!

Sigh... Hubby woke up unable to bend or put weight on his knee. No idea was happened. Hopefully nothing major and that he improves fast but Monday is the latest we can cancel his plane ticket for a full refund/credit. So I may end up on my first ever solo Disney trip. My sister lives a few hours away and may pop down for a 1-2 days so I could have some company.

Kinda nervous... it might be nice to "get up and go" on my on time but I feel so awkward about dining in restaurants by myself. LOL

I hope that he can join you. If not, take a Kindle with you to dinner. Or a book, but depending on the light in the restaurant, it might be a bit harder to read. You might not need it, but it's there if you do feel awkward. I enjoy eating alone, but it took awhile before it felt natural.

Hopefully he feels better soon but as someone who traveled a lot for work and has done a couple solo disney trips i think you will be fine alone and have a great time if it comes to that. Eating alone can be very relaxing and enjoyable even though it sounds boring and this is coming from someone with diagnosed ADD lol.

Disney changed the hours of Mk and Ak 2/4-2/5 weekend. Excited for the emhs at Mk on the 4th with Mk being open til 11pm😍

Thank you both. 😊

The good news is that our SWA fare down to Orlando on 2/6 dropped to $84. The bad news is that my husband now has so many travel funds left that some of them will expire if we don't book another trip. But do I really want to book another trip to Disney just so I don't lose the $10 travel fund? This is what Disney math does to you. ;)

Disney math at it's finest. It sucks us in every time!

Aw, so glad they could change things and you still get to go to Disney. YAY to being there on your birthday. How is your son? I hope it's a mild case.

UGH! School schedules. My husband teaches at the local community college and he can't miss more than 2 1/2 days in a row so that's why our trip is Tuesday-Sunday instead of a whole week. He will work half the day Tuesday and take the other half off. Then will take off Wednesday and Thursday. Friday they don't have students and are only there for about 3 hours anyways so he will take that off as well and use one of his days he has stocked up, which he can get away with since there are no students that day anyway.
