I'm back! Whew, baseball season is so busy for us! This year we are hosting two guys and a wife, all from South America! My Spanish is as bad as their English, so there has been many pantomimes and lots of giggles. Our house is busy and our hearts are full.
On to Day 3 - Hollywood Studios
Our morning started bright and early once again with am 8am ADR at Hollywood and Vine.
The best I can say is meh. The food was ok. The character interactions were ok. It was just ok. This is not an ADR we would actively seek out again, but I'm glad we did it.
Faith wasn't too into it honestly. She was very fixated on what was coming next..... did you notice her shirt? It says "Do You Want To Be a Jedi?" It was all she could talk about. To Manny. To Jake. To Sofia. To our server. To everyone. "I have to leave because I want to be a Jedi." If you have followed our story, you know that I've been stressing about this too. Would we get a place in JTA?
And here is where we encountered the most amazing bit of pixie-dust. Hollywood and Vine may be meh, but the management is AMAZING. AH-MAY-ZING! I can't even begin to thank them for all they did for us. I can't say what they did, but they sure did it!
Not only was Faith a Jedi, she was the first Jedi Trainee in the first show. And boy was she proud!
For those wondering about JTA with MAW kiddos and what accommodations can be made, they can make lots of them, but you need to ask! Faith was allowed to have her brother help her on stage and the Jedi Trainer, and his assistant are very, very accommodating for MAW children's needs. It was one of the highlights of this whole trip!
Now that we had an official Jedi in the house, we had to ride Star Tours. Then we had to ride it again. And again. And once more for good measure. Thank you Genie Pass!!! Then we went to Indiana Jones Stunt Show. This was a high priority for Faith also because one of her favorite games is
Lego Indiana Jones. We walked up just as they began seating for the show. We were escorted to VIP seating and told that Indiana would be meeting and signing autographs after the show right next to the sound booth. She loved the show and as soon as it ended, she scooted all the way down the bench so that she was right next to the sound booth. Then she waited. We watched everyone clear out until it was just us and a couple guys in the booth. Faith was starting to get anxious so DH asked one of the guys how much longer until Indy came out. The look of confusion on their face was enough to make my heart sink. One said "I don't think he is, but I'll check." Cue Faith beginning to whimper.
She held it together enough that it wasn't a full on cry, but she buried her head into my shirt. We waited. Then the two guys left and it was just us with no Indy. We did our best to gather her up and I was rocking her, explaining that we would make sure to catch him after the next show. Then bounding down the stairs came one of the very same CM Angels from the JTA. She came right up to Faith and said that Indy was on his way, he just wanted to make sure it was just him and us. Then boom! Indy came running up to Faith.
Do you notice the double hat thing going on? He told Faith that he was sorry he was late, but that he was grabbing a special gift for her. And then I started crying. Dang, I cried a lot on this trip. Always happy tears.
