Easter at VGF

are there any activities for the kids specific to GF?

If yes, do you need to be there on Sunday or do they have things on Friday and Saturday as well?

Also, do you need to sign up in advance for anything?

Any other “must do’s” at WDW Easter?

Thanks

GF has a very impressive annual "Egg Display" for the Easter break time consisting of a large amount of painted and decorated art work in the lobby that is shaped like eggs or half-eggs (all much larger than any real egg; see photos of 2018 display here http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2018/03/27/disney-world-grand-floridian-resort-easter-egg-photo-tour/). Actual events are generally limited to Easter, mainly in the morning, and consist of an appearance and meet with the bunny and often Mrs bunny a number of Disney characters (typically Mickey, Minnie and Goofy), an Easter Egg hunt (plastic with goodies inside), and some crafts. There is also available a continental breakfast in the courtyard. I do not believe you need to sign up for anything beforehand (but check when there because rules can change)

Be aware that Disney does not do Easter anything near like it does Christmas. You will see some decorations, many hardly noticeable, and nothing even approaching what it does at Christmas. There are those resort events on Sunday and some of the resort restaurants have an Easter brunch. The MK parade usually gets some Easter touches added for the holiday break tome, including a bunny and Mrs bunny, and there are usally character meets with the bunny and Mrs bunny in days leading up to Easter. One thing that will likely occur is that MK will have its largest crowd of the week on Eastern Sunday, sometimes reaching capacity, mostly because visting guests believe something special happens at MK on Sunday that you cannot see other days of the Easter break. That is a misconception because anything that occurs there on Sunday also occurs other days and my personal view is to go anywhere other than MK on Sunday.

Does anyone know when they put out the easter egg displays? Or the easter egg "hunt" at epcot. we are going april 6, 2019 for the week and we r hoping to catch these! Easter is at the end of the april next yr.

We gomtoDVC every year at eater time.
This year we stayed at VGF.
We had ver stayed there.
The pool areas were mobbed and there were many arguments over chairs
The resort it self of very nice.
However we will not go back .

We will be at VGF over Easter break but staying Easter weekend proper at the Swan (fewer points!). In the past we had gone to VGF *after* Easter (late April, when Easter was late March that year) and the Easter egg displays were still up, so I can imagine they would be up for quite some time before. IIRC, they are made of chocolate and very intricate.

The Easter displays go up about a week before Easter. I have been 2 weeks before, and they did not start going up until the day we left. Of course, every year could be slightly different.
