It seems I have always been able to make interim payments through the DU website at any time of day. Recently, I get a message telling me they can only accept payments during their business hours. The hours are very generous, but I am on the other side of the world, so I can’t make payments during my normal waking hours unless I do it from work.

Is this a new thing? Have I just been lucky with my timing in the past? This is hardly an emergency, PIF date isn’t until April. I am just curious.
 
I got caught by this recently too. Yes it’s new yes it’s harder when you are in Australia 😬
 
Yes, I also recently found this out also. It's especially frustrating when you wait 3 days for your Dreams agent to get back to you and when they finally do it's after the closing time for you to make the deposit till the next day. Just frustrating and not good communication at all about the change.
 
Perhaps there were complaints from customers making payments at off hours who were wondering why it was taking time for the payment to process?
 


I'm considering DU for my next vacation. All new to me. Why can't a customers pay using a Disney cruise app?
When you use a TA, the TA “owns” the reservation and anything financial-related (payments, stateroom changes, etc.) must go through the TA. DCL will not accept from you direct. The TA is getting paid a commission, therefore must do the work.

Thank You, good to know. I've never booked with a TA. Considering to use one for next Disney getaway
 
Weird, I was under the assumption that any payments made after business hours would be processed the next day.
it even says on their website for making a payment:

IMPORTANT: Payments are processed during the following hours:
Monday thru Friday: 8AM - 8PM Eastern Time
Saturday and Sunday: 10AM - 3PM Eastern Time
Holidays: 10AM - 3PM Eastern Time
Payments received outside of those hours will be processed the next day.
If it is outside of these hours and you need to submit an emergency payment please contact your Dreams Unlimited Travel Agent.

So was I. But now when I get the message there is no fillable form present.
 
This was very annoying for me & I am in the same time zone. Also I could not make a payment outside of their business hours. Last time I used them they would process the next business day, but this time I couldn’t even put in payment.
 
Never would of thought of using a Travel Agent in another country.
I live in Germany and have used varous US agents as they are the specialists in Disney travel and via them I have gotten special deals or OBCs. Since any communcation is via email it really doesnt matter.
 
Lesson to learn is that one never waits until that last day to make a final payment. Giver yourself and the agent a buffer to process payments and even if you book directly- believe me technical glitches or payment glitches can happen too! Watch for weekends too. If you have a CC / bank issue for payment weekends might be an issue to resolve.

I'd be more concerned about any special circumstances involving international travel and currency exchange. Last thing I would want is an oversight there that a U.S. travel agent likely would not have expertise in.
