HAPPY HALLOWEEN, FRIENDS!!!
Thanks for the very sweet message.
I have already received a birthday greeting from my better half, we have an exciting day ahead of early voting, flu shots and lunch.
We know how to party!
Happy Birthday Dee the most awesome thread hostess on the DIS!
Thank you so much for the birthday bling and the incredibly kind words!
Just read they are now trying a different method to enforce parking fees at the resorts. They are stationing non security CM at the guard shack to confirm people checking in that they have a car. One of the resorts mentioned was YC/BC. Can anyone confirm this? I think they rolled it out this past Sunday.
Yes this is the case.
Happy Birthday Dee!! Party on!
Happy Birthday Dee! Have a great one!
First, Happy Belated Birthday, Dee! Hope you had a great day!
Our week at BC was wonderful. We had called a week ahead of time to remind them we preferred ground floor, and verified when we arrived that we would get one. With 2 ECV’s (& a father who doesn’t do stairs well in case of emergency), downstairs is not only easier for us, but also anyone who would use the elevators.
We had room 1547, looking out at the quiet pool. We had drapes, which helped a lot with the afternoon sun. Everyone was very helpful, from checking in to Mousekeeping. I’ve tried to include some photos, showing current toiletries as well as the outlet between the beds with USB ports. Also, both ECV’s fit pretty well. I’ll try to resize the photo of the view and post it later. Dee, feel free to use any photos you think will help.
Oh ... I forgot to mention it does have a daybed.
Yes, we just returned home and I can confirm this is true at the BC.
I'll look around myself, is anyone at the resort know who could post or send me a copy of the November activities calendar? If you have a club level stay later in the month, you can also request to have one emailed to you.

As noted on the Nov rec calendar, there are a number of new activities at YC/BC for everyone. The former Sandcastle Club, renamed Seaside Retreat and located adjacent to the BC Marketplace, is the location for some activities.
Martha's Vineyard Lounge, located at the BC, is the home for painting lessons late afternoon on Fridays. There is live music at the lounge on Monday evenings.
Thanks for posting! I was looking for this this morning hoping it was out already.
Does anyone have a description of the activities? We will be at the resort Tuesday and some of Saturday. I'm curious what the Changing of the Guard, Candy Sink and Critter Round Up are. Are the campfires fun?
Thank you so much!!!
That is a different layout from past months/years.
Not sure about the Candy Sink or Critter Round Up, so others will have to post about that.
Changing of the Guard (I think) is a choreographed line dance routine by the lifeguards as they are changing shifts. Here they are performing to the Cupid Shuffle.
Just a reminder for those interested in participating in YC/BC activities that occur at Stormalong Bay - you must be a YC/BC registered guest to enter the gated area at Stormalong Bay. The CMs will scan your MB or view a wrist band. Later in the evening, though, it appears that the scanning is sometimes hit and miss.
I had to do a double take to make sure it was the same thing. Looks so different without the old grid!
I think critter round up is when they dump a lot of colored rubber small animal toys into the pool and have all of the kids gather them up by color and take them back to rings they put beside the pool then the kids with the most animals at the end win.
Sorry for that description, it’s hard to put into words
