Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

Hi all -- just stopping in to say hello. We are going on the Wish in July and booked PO:FQ the night before so we could 1) finally get to try some beignets (our kids never wanted to hop over here) 2) try out a moderate (albeit for one night) since we've only done Poly and Pop (and Fort Wilderness cabins for me as a kid 30 years ago!) and 3) we wanted to see jazz, but apparently it won't be happening on Thursday :(

So that being said -- what is our best bet to get from PO:FQ to Poly for Trader Sam's? My thought was probably the bus to MK then monorail, because I guess the boat (if it's working) to DS then bus to Poly would be much longer correct?

Also after Trader Sam's we may head over to EPCOT for the After Hours. Excited to get in some WDW fun before our cruise!
Or you could Uber to Poly for about $7.

For the trip to the Poly bus to MK. Then Monoral if you are using Disney transportation . Using Disney Springs as a transfer point does take longer.
If you decide not to do Poly, Yeeha Bob does his show at Riverside. He is there Wednesday - Saturday unless he's on vacation. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from French Quarter.
I’ll have to look up about Bob. I’ve seen that mentioned a few times now. Thanks!

Thanks. We usually do this if in a hurry. Always nice to have more options.

Does anyone have any updates on the pool? Apparently it closed again May 6th unexpectedly?
Any updates should it be open again by June 6th?
Any help greatly appreciated!

I thought it had opened and then shut again!
Thank you so much for you help much appreciated.

It did reopen at Easter weekend after a lengthy maintenance period, but then it shut again a few weeks later due a pump or piping issue being discovered. It re-opened again on 11 May.

There used to be Trivia nights at Mardi Grogs but I no longer see it listed on the Resort Activity Calendar. Is it really gone?

For anyone there now, is there refurbishment going on anywhere on the grounds? Thanks.
I got back last week, on the 14th, so I'm not still there, however, there was refurbishment going on in building 2, where we were. They're doing work on the exterior--painting and roof.

External work - touching up paintwork and walkways, roof cleaning, garden tidying, grass moving, etc can happen at any time and is not normally notified to guests in advance, other than signage on the walkways apologising for any current noise. FQ building 1 is just starting on a room refurbishment program though, and may involve closing all or part of the building.

Do we know if the room refurbishment is a soft goods or hard goods refurbishment? Also, any idea if they are refurbishing all rooms or are they only converting certain rooms to a "theme"?

Probably hard goods as the last (2018/19) refurb was soft goods plus flooring. I assume it's all rooms, as there has been no talk of dividing some of the rooms off into themes like there was when the Royal Room concept was introduced for part of Riverside.
