Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Butter chicken was Fridays for years and years, lol…but after Covid, they switched to a four-day rotation so you probably ended up with the butter chicken on Sundays by fluke! And yes, they are still serving it :).
I guess I'm getting too old to remember that it was on Fridays before COVID. Lol! Sunday just sticks in my brain for some reason. So it's every 4 days? Why do I feel like it was only served once when we were there in 2021? This is good news though! Because Sunday was going to be a little tough for us, but if there's a second chance for butter chicken then that's amazing! :cool1:

have stayed at all varieties of WDW hotels since 1987; have tried ASMusic and Movies, CS, Dolphin twice(business convention), and AKL CL for Walts 100 at the end of Sept 2001 which was empty as was the parks; first major CL trip was in 1989 i think, at the GF Concierge when they had the super Grand Plan which they didn't want to do because it was redundant in perks but after a call to Eisners office we got it - ate twice at the Empress Room and twice at V&As - hated the suit at wdw but it was worth it; the trees were newly planted so the view of the MK was wonderful - now its blocked a bit from those 'redwoods' lol;

then when they opened the WL we always stayed there even before they created the CL there; we felt that even though it was definitely full of disney effects we always thought it was the one resort that you truly felt you were in Yellowstone and not inside a disney park, the music in the lobby, rocking chairs by the fireplace, flag family of the day etc. But then as we got older, more spoilt, and more flush with gelt(yiddish for cash lol) we started staying again in the GF CL either 4421 or 4422, the octagon honeymoon suite or the weirdly shaped Deluxe next door;

then when some disability issues began we thought the more convenient stay would be around Crescent Lake; since we were coney island visitors we chose the BWI although have stayed at the YC too, which we remember passing by in the tram that made the loop from Epcot to BC, Y&B, Swan & Dolphin and then in front of the construction walls of the BWI back to Epcot. Now after the last couple of years when I swallowed my pride and rented an ECV from Gold, it is the perfect location to do Epcot and DHS; we really dont do AK much anymore and we take the accessible minnie vans to the MK;

i have never had any complaints about WDW hotels and parks except for during the tenure of Bob Paychek and am glad he is gone;

we are going back to the BWI Deluxe CL on sept 26 and then again jan 30; then hoping to go back spring of '25 when 1st grandchild who is due nov 16(going to stay up by DD for the whole month of nov in a Homewood suites by hilton(not much else around there except for the Mohawk Casino) to help out; so wdw trips might be put on hold until we can all go together; DD's first trip was at 23 months old so her DD can hopefully go at 17-18 months of age; a nice 2BR suite or 2 connecting rooms in the CL hopefully at the BWI CL or another since DD wants to be on momoail so maybe back to the GF it will be;

we also did the DCL once, the Wonder, for DDs Bat Mitzvah present; we did the land and sea but we front ended a full week at the GF CL in 4421, the octagon; there was a little problem in that your accommodation on the ship determined your accommodation level at the resort; since we stayed in the Walter E Disney suite on the DCL Wonder we were guaranteed the GF CL; however, those pesky computers only allowed 2 people in the honeymoon suite and we were 3; so 1 call to Eisner's office and another nice convo with Lucille Martin, who was Walt's secretary, then Eisners, locked out 4421 for the 3 of us for the week; over the years i developed a friendship with Lucille and always called her when an issue arose and just like magic everything worked out; i was sorry to hear she passed because she truly embodied the magic of Walt and what he envisioned for CMs at Disney;

8 sleeps to go including tonight if i ever make it to sleep and then the BWI Deluxe CL here we come; hoping to get a desk because there is no way i can manage using the laptop on the bed; but i am sure the magic will happen as it always seen to do;
Love this!

I have the deluxe room in Nov. That extra space is so nice. I have not seen an extra desk but there is an end table in the living area you could move in front of the chair perhaps.

I'm 100% sure it was on a Sunday last October because I finally got my DD to try it and she loved it. We'll be there again on a Sunday this October, so I'll be sure to post an update.

AKL CL was also a 4 day rotation during our Christmas week trip. Just looked back for reference. Buttered Chicken was first served on a Sunday that week too. It was served on Sunday, 12/25 then again on 12/29. Hope that helps. 🙂

Thanks so much! I have to get that butter chicken at least once on our trip!

Grand Floridian RPC Update shared on the GF Thread HERE.

We were at the Grand twice last week. Thursday night we were hanging out waiting for a storm to end and noticed workers on the 4th floor lounge area. We were back at the Grand on Saturday night for dinner and rode the elevator with a concierge cast member and a guest. We did not recognize the concierge cast member at all, but I asked if the lounge had reopened, and she said they were starting a soft reopening and only a few guests were there at the moment. We are scheduled to stay there Oct. 8, and we are super excited to see how everything looks.

Hi, all!! I was trolling the discounts updates this morning, and there are AP discounts alllllll over for Jan-Feb. And they apply to - seems like - almost everything!! I was able to apply it to our Disney Suite stay at the beginning of Feb. I had shifted plans with my mom to Nov and was thinking I’d cancel the suite, but now I’ll keep it for 2 nights. Gotta make the AP work for me while I have it… That may be the last splash-out for a bit.

Anyways, go check it out!

That’s awesome. So glad you were able to apply it to your suite. 😀

This is not a CL specific issue but I am wondering if anyone here has ever had this issue. I am unable to complete any transactions in MDE or the app. I get to the payment page (even for dining reservations) and after I enter credit card details and click the "terms and conditions" I get the same message of "unknown error, try again later". It has been going on for a few weeks. The last transaction I was able to get through was the purchase of our magic bands. I had to make dining by phone. I have contacted both the site help desk (she had me clear cookies, incognito, etc and then escalated my concern, no response after my phone call) and the app help desk (they wanted me to check my credit card information). I have tried three different credit cards (including my husbands).
I did have one snafu about a month before this happened. Our MDE account was always managed by me but under my husbands name so that were referred to as the "his last name" party because we don't have the same last name. After I had linked our reservation for our upcoming trip that he is not coming on, I had decided I had better change the lead name (even though I had a profile (but not an account in my name). I changed his profile to my name (it has my birthdate on it anyway) and my profile to his name. This screwed up who was on the reservation and the website would not let me change it. So I called and in 5 seconds, they had the correct two people on the reservation, my DD12 and me.

Do you think there is something not linked somewhere? FWIW, I purchased the magic bands after the reservation screw up. I have everything booked but I am concerned that I am not going to be able to purchase Genie+ the first morning because of this. Also, I can't make any dining adjustments online. Its like 2006 over here. I figured I would ask here first because many of you travel often and with different groups.

FYI we are CR CL for the first time on our trip (DD's choice over our usual WL CL). So excited for that, but this is annoying and has me a little worried. I have over 30 days until our trip but I want this cleared up sooner rather then later.

I don’t know but I do know Disney IT is a mess. I sent a link to my friend so we could group plan a trip. It took out their daughter on all hotel, dining and park passes and put my name instead. Even staying CL they couldn’t fix it.

With that said there are some smarties over in Theme Parks board that may be able to help. Sometimes I am amazed on their knowledge. Good luck!

I had the same issue and was able to book things if I went into an incognito browser. Didn't matter what computer or device I used. Now you got me worried for my upcoming trip this weekend lol.

Glad you got it fixed, but who did not feel extreme stress reading this... I think I hyperventilated. :D

I was over 90 days out and was freaking out. Still having the credit card issue though. Now it won't even accept adding a new card.
I have called guest services after I thought I lost my park reservations and I was shaking. CM was like, you will be ok...:jester:

Hi, all! DH came down with a cold, and I had to get up to Santa Barbara from San Diego today to get onto a multiday scuba diving boat… Diving and congestion do not mix, so as soon as I saw what was happening yesterday, I beat it outta there for a hotel. DL Hotel, with discounted rate, non CL. Walked around a but at DTD, then decided to see if I could grab dinner. Yadda yadda, I wound up eating at the Chef’s Table at Napa Rose. No joke, they had a last-minute single diner cancellation. Yum!! I know I’m supposed to be a purist and love DL, but I just don’t. I tried 15 years ago and couldn’t get into it, and this overnight just solidified my impression. It feels cramped and crowded, and sooooo many non-resort guests packed in. Worth the stopover, but I just prefer WDW. It’s totally OT, but if anyone’s interested, I can send or post pics of my delicious dinner.

My husband was v jealous of my dinner. Poor man. But I feel great and can’t wait to go diving ;).

Looking for advice about what to choose for an upcoming stay. Husband and I are currently booked at Beach Club CL water view. We are having a 4 night getaway without the kids 🙌 Very excited!

Poking around on the website today and saw a BWI CL Garden Cottage available. It costs a little more, but might be worth having the space, a guaranteed king bed, and the soaking tub. Also like being close to the boardwalk and bars!

Should I make the switch? 😆 How far of a walk is the Innkeepers Club?

It is tricky. The lounge is on floor 4. You can take stairs up or an elevator. If you don’t mind going to/from the rooms are fun and recently remodeled.

If you want more convenience to food/drinks stick with what you have,

I think for an alone trip I’d go with the cottage.
