Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

In my opinion they did an excellent job with the resort and CL reserved viewing on the beach - best organization and setup I've seen.

They utilized the new beach chairs for the CL viewing, plus a few plastic ones.

This area was available for CL guests for both the 6:30pm and 11:50pm shows on 12/31. For the late show they had a table set up with NYE toys, sparkling wine, and sprite. They reserved section never got particularly crowded - I was pretty surprised. It was chilly, yes, but there seemed to be less people overall here and in the resort reserved area. Perhaps due to good enforcement? Not sure.

View from said viewing area for the 11:50pm show (which is the one where they utilize the island launch point to 'simulcast' the traditional behind the MK launch point fireworks.

It was a wonderful evening.

At some point recently (I was told mid December) Poly installed a serious new speaker system along the beach. Poly fireworks audio has always been a bit of a challenge and has has periods of rough patches in my time of staying there. It was pretty easy to be 'too far' out on the beach and you'd lose good audio volume. NOT ANYMORE!

Fireworks volume was excellent from the beach and water facing Hawaii rooms. They also play the background music through these too, which makes the music quite audible all day in the beach / water facing Hawaii area. I was a happy Poly-goer when they switched from the holiday soundtrack to the normal soundtrack after the new year, but maybe not so much before. :-)

Sort of surprised they left them so un-themed, but whatever.

Do they have sparkling water in the lounges? My daughter is obsessed with sparkling water, even plain. That would make her stay.

I know BWI does, in a tap (makes it hard to pour out but it's there)
I'm 90% sure I saw it in bottles at GDT

Do you have to let CMs know you’re staying CL to be taken for check in or do they meet you out front when you get off DME? Seeing conflicting info about that.
It's confusing because there's no one answer.
Sometimes they meet you
Sometimes they don't
There's times when no one is working that position and there are times they are but they are busy with someone else
No matter who checks you in when you arrive they'll see you are staying CL
If you get a CM that tries to brush you off and suggest you wait on your room notice, then you can tell them you are staying CL and they'll take you up.

It would be rare for Poly to have a greeter out front. It is probably the “worst” CL in that regard...no greeters, very few manager/iPad CMs around to find, etc. The check in experience isn’t particularly notable there (not that it’s bad, just some other resorts do it better)

At Poly, there is a desk just to the left when you walk in the front door that has a “Club Level Arrivals” sign on it. The sign may not be there after hours. Or the sign might be up, but no CM will be there as they sometimes do leave the station to escort guests back, do something else, etc.

We arrived 3:30ish last trip and the sign was up, but no CM. We hung around the desk for a few mins, no signs of anyone, so just walked back to the Hawaii longhouse ourselves.

Generally speaking I’d try to find someone at the CL arrival desk or someone to tell you’re checking in CL so they can take it from there.

Have fun!

Our last experience was Poly CL and I had that same "nobody's home" experience at the check in desk. It was several minutes before someone came, and I finally had to ask another CM for assistance. I assume the CM assigned had, as you suggested, been busy taking other guests to their room. I agree that the Poly CL check in is less than notable, but not having had many other club level experiences, maybe it's unfair to judge.

We land at MCO at 8:30am so we should be there by 10 from past experience. Hopefully staffing won’t be an issue that early.

What are the main differences you would say between a CL stay and a regular Deluxe stay?

Thanks for the post GADisneydad14!
July will be our 2nd stay at the poly but first time club level
Are the adult beverages out all day or just during certain hours?

Beer and wine just 5-7. Cordials 8-10. Always by request as well, which at Poly is usually easy since there are often CMs around / close by.

Enjoy your first Poly CL stay!

Wine choices look quite similar to the ones BWI had out this time.
And in a recent update, they had Grey Goose out for desserts. And Kailua, and milk. So you know what that means, LOL
There was a HUGE increase in the beer options though.
They had cans (the big ones) of Sweetwater 420 and Toasted Lager (Blue Point I think)

We have been watching a bunch of YouTube videos on the lounge, and one video from September had a bottle of Tito’s Vodka out at dessert. (also had Johnny Walker Red in that particular video.) But the videos following that had Gray Goose, like you mentioned above. Very interesting, since I have not seen it at any other club level! I think it’s a nice addition for those who may not drink wine or beer.

*Found mentioned video. Drinks shown at 7:40.

Food and beverages. They are not provided for a non CL stay
You stand as good a chance of the CM being away checking in another guest as any other time of day. They rarely have more than 1 stationed but any CM can help. Just ask, go to the regular desk. It won't matter who helps show you the way

The main difference is the food and beverages. Otherwise, you get the same room that you would get with a regular reservation. There are a few additional perks, but those are minor. We get the most value out of CL by eating as many meals as possible in the lounge.

Oh I gave up choosing based on decor a long time ago when I take DH along, the only decor that doesn't throw him off is WL lol. He has always said he'll never stay at CR, but he was the one that put it in our top three last night so maybe things are changing *fingers crossed*. I think I remember reading about your stay (if I'm thinking of the same person, so many posts to go through), and I told DH that people had recently had a great stay there so I'm kinda hopeful we'll end up at CR CL at this point. It would be nice to just walk to MK, and after this summer it will be the only deluxe I haven't stayed at (I have stayed at BLT but I don't count that lol). Here's hoping he doesn't change his mind. Thank you!

I agree about so many posts to go through, especially since there were a few other dis-ers who had CR CL stays around mine....lol. CR CL is great all around....the lounge, CL CMs, food, etc....and it is hard to beat being within walking distance to MK. I always have a hard time choosing as there are so many great resort choices. My CR stay completed my deluxe stays and while the Poly will always be my favorite overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them again (although I still have CL to try at AKL & BC). Good luck :).

Ok, now I’m having a dilemma (total first world problem dilemma!). My mom wants us to consider Boardwalk Inn CL instead of Poly CL. She is concerned that the food in the Poly lounge won’t appeal to the kids and that it will be very pork and shellfish based BC of the theming. We don’t eat meat or shellfish, but we do eat fish (kosher). I am torn. Can anyone help me with info on the following to help me decide?
1. Food - what’s it like at BWI?
2. Lounge atmosphere - is either poly or BWI more kid friendly (we have a ten year old and a six year old)
3. Pools - anyone have opinions on which is better?
4. Room size. We’ll have five in one room - is either significantly bigger?
5. Transportation - we’ve always stayed on the monorail and I’m scared about not doing that. Is the walk to Epcot or Hs really doable?
Any other points of comparison you have would be appreciated! I hate not being sure!

Both CLs are great, but I would probably give the edge to Poly with kids. The lounge is a little bigger with additional seating on the 3rd floor, not to mention the awesome view of fireworks from the 2nd floor. My favorite pool has always been the Poly volcano pool, but BWI pool was also very nice. As far as room size, the Poly rooms are quite a bit larger/more spacious than BWI rooms. You wouldn't have any trouble with 5 at BWI, but you would be able to spread out a little more (IMO) in a Poly room. I found transportation to be about the same at both resorts. Walking to Epcot and/or DHS is a nice perk of BWI, but the monorail is great for going to MK and you can walk to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail from the Poly. Both have their perks, just depends which area you prefer. Good luck choosing, but I don't think you can go wrong with either :).

July will be our 2nd stay at the poly but first time club level

Poly CL is awesome! Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.
